In a brazen act of political violence, BJP goons launched a brutal attack on Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) sitting MLA and Rithala candidate, Mohinder Goyal, in broad daylight. Disguised in AAP sashes, the assailants struck Mohinder Goyal while he was campaigning in Sector 11, leaving him seriously injured and unconscious, with threats to shoot him. After the incident, Mohinder Goyal was immediately taken to Ambedkar Hospital.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has strongly condemned the attack, calling out the the BJP for resorting to violence as they see their electoral defeat imminent in Delhi. The incident has sent shockwaves across the capital, raising urgent questions about law and order under BJP rule.
Sharing a video clip of the incident on ‘X’ handle, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal expressed: “BJP is losing elections badly in Delhi – in frustration they have now resorted to violence. We strongly condemn the attack on our MLA Mohinder Goyal from Rithala.”
The Aam Aadmi Party has posted a video of this incident on its official ‘X’ handle, stating: “Seeing its defeat, BJP has now resorted to violence! BJP’s frustration has increased to such an extent that now it is openly carrying out deadly attacks on AAP MLAs. Today BJP goons attacked AAP MLA Mohinder Goyal – and they are saying to the MLA ‘I will shoot you’. People of Delhi, think about it. When they are not in power, they are threatening to shoot an MLA, if you vote for them even by mistake, tomorrow they will threaten to shoot the common people, they will turn Delhi into a den of hooliganism. Amit Shah ji, if you cannot defeat us in the elections, will you now get AAP leaders and workers killed? The people of Delhi will answer this hooliganism with their votes on February 5.”
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia took to ‘X’ handle and wrote: “BJP, frustrated by its defeat, is now hell-bent on getting AAP leaders killed! BJP has now resorted to shedding blood to win elections! BJP goons attacked AAP MLA Mohinder Goyal – Will BJP now grab power by murdering AAP leaders? How long will the Election Commission sit with its eyes closed? The people of Delhi will give a befitting reply to this goondagardi on 5 February!”
Senior AAP leader and Delhi CM Atishi stated on her ‘X’ handle: “The BJP, frustrated by its certain defeat, is now carrying out deadly attacks on AAP leaders. The attack on Mohinder Goyal ji today by BJP goons is living proof that BJP wants to capture power through ‘goondagardi’. But the people of Delhi will not be afraid of their goondagardi and will give a befitting reply by pressing the ‘jhaadu’ button on February 5.”
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh stated on ‘X’: “BJP is losing badly in Delhi and in frustration, it has resorted to violence.

“BJP’s goon is telling AAP MLA Mohinder Goyal ‘I will shoot him’. People of Delhi, think about it, since the government is not formed now, they are shooting. If by mistake BJP comes to power, then ‘they will make Delhi a bastion of hooliganism’.” stated the AAP MP in another post.
