With a rallying cry: ‘I am back, and Kejriwal will also be back,’ former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s sixth padyatra stormsTrinagar, electrifying the crowd with promises of renewed resolve against BJP’s conspiracies. Delhi erupts in celebration, as firecrackers light up the sky and flowers rain down, Delhi braces for the return of its Chief Minister, determined to crush BJP’s conspiracies and reignite progress in the national capital. Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s padyatra reached Trinagar on Thursday. Here, while directly interacting with the public at the party office in Shakarpur, he said that I am very lucky that I got a chance to work in your AAP. It is also a matter of happiness for me that I got a chance to do politics in a city like Delhi. I have returned after spending 17.5 months in jail. When people go to jail after doing wrong, they come back dejected. “But history is witness that whenever people in power do wrong to someone and send them to jail, they come out stronger. In the freedom struggle, the British tortured our freedom fighters a lot and put them in jail. But not a single freedom fighter got dejected, rather they came out stronger and fought and got the country freed,” he added.
The former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister continued, “Today when the fight to save democracy and the Constitution is going on, I got a chance to go to jail in this fight. Jail is not a good place, but still, I say that due to the love of all of you, I did not feel sad even for a single day in jail. Because I had not done anything wrong and my brothers and sisters were fighting strongly outside. This was my strength. That is why I did not need to wilt. I have come out even stronger. The BJP people thought that if they kept me in jail for 16-17 months, I would break down and come out weak. But I have come out stronger and will fight with strength. I have just come out, soon Arvind Kejriwal will also come out with a thousand times more courage.”
Manish Sisodia further added that they (BJP) put me in jail even though I was building schools in Delhi, sending teachers abroad for training, going among children, improving government schools and not allowing the fees of private schools to increase. I was working in the field of education revolution under the guidance of Arvind Kejriwal. CM Arvind Kejriwal was getting hospitals as well as schools revamped. He was getting people’s electricity bills reduced to zero. Electricity is not free anywhere in the country except in Delhi and Punjab. Bus tickets are getting expensive across the country, but as soon as we came, we made bus travel free for all women. “But BJP felt that if Arvind Kejriwal continued to work like this, then its ‘jumla’ politics would stop and people would not believe in ‘jumlas’. Therefore, it hatched a conspiracy to send Arvind Kejriwal to jail,” he affirmed.
“All of you are witnesses that when Arvind Kejriwal was out, whatever work BJP tried to stop, Arvind Kejriwal used to get it done by fighting. But today if we compare the work of Arvind Kejriwal in his eight years and the fight of the last year, the BJP has troubled the people of Delhi a lot. I was put in jail, I have no regrets about it. Arvind Kejriwal was sent to jail, he also has no regrets about it. From inside the jail, CM Arvind Kejriwal sends a message, ‘I am saddened that BJP is hatching one conspiracy after another to stop the work of the people of Delhi’,” shared the former Deputy CM of Delhi.
Manish Sisodia further mentioned that as long as CM Arvind Kejriwal was out, he did not let any work of Delhi stop. But since he has been put in jail as part of a conspiracy, people are saying that schools, hospitals and Mohalla Clinics are running fine. Electricity bills are zero and women are also getting free bus travel. But the BJP is deliberately creating water and sewer problems for the people. By putting Arvind Kejriwal in jail, the condition of sewer and water is being deliberately worsened. Because they know that the ‘lion of Delhi’ and your brother Arvind Kejriwal is in jail. But in a few days that lion is also going to come out. Then they will not have the courage to stop the sewer and water of the people of Delhi. No matter how much conspiracy the BJP people do, as soon as Arvind Kejriwal comes out, all of them will be shocked.
Manish Sisodia mentioned that while sitting in jail for 17 months, he used to see on TV that many times the channels supporting BJP tried to incite people against Arvind Kejriwal. Then people used to reply that BJP people are doing wrong with Arvind Kejriwal, he has not committed any theft. The public was answering them. I thank every person who supported Kejriwal with truth, honesty and courage. The AAP did not break but came out stronger. I was locked in a small boundary wall for 17 months. The doors were open for a while during the day and I was taken out for a walk within 100 meters. In these 17 months, I thought about you people. Seeing you people on TV, I got great satisfaction at how angry AAP workers are and how honestly and truthfully they are fighting for us.
“During these 17 months, my wife was also ill. My son is studying in college. When I came out, my colleagues said that after 17 months you have come out, you should go out somewhere with your wife and children for 2-4 days. So I said that this is my family, apart from this my big family is waiting for me. I will meet them first. I did not go out for a holiday. My situation is that of a person who stays away from his family for a long time and on coming back he wants to meet everyone quickly. I met my wife and child, but my family is also the people of Delhi, those workers who used to fight for me. Today I have come among my family. I have no agenda to come among you. I stayed away from you for 17 months, so now I have come to meet this family of mine,” concluded Manish Sisodia.
Manish Sisodia was given a grand welcome with flower garlands
Manish Sisodia along with Trinagar’s AAP MLA Preeti Tomar, councilors and party workers took to the streets of Shakarpur for a padyatra at around 6:30 pm. A huge crowd of people gathered in this padyatra. Supporters welcomed Manish Sisodia with fireworks and welcomed him with flower showers and flower garlands.
Children gave roses and said, “Thank you sir”
A large number of children also participated in the padyatra. Children expressed their love by presenting roses to their beloved ‘Manish Uncle’. Many female students garlanded him with flowers and thanked him for improving government schools. During this, children also touched his feet and took his blessings. Manish Sisodia asked about their studies. During this, some children gave letters to Manish Sisodia and many also took autographs.
Auto driver thanks for financial help during Covid
Auto drivers also participated in Manish Sisodia’s padyatra. One auto driver shared that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kejriwal government provided financial assistance of Rs 5,000 each to him and his brother on two occasions. “I am very grateful to him, and we all love him very much. We pray day and night for his release from jail,” he said. In response, Manish Sisodia remarked that Kejriwal also cares deeply for everyone. “He is in jail, but he constantly thinks about the people of Delhi.”

Many elderly people placed their hands on Manish Sisodia’s head, blessed him, and praised the work of the Kejriwal government. Manish Sisodia bowed to everyone with folded hands and thanked them for their love and affection. Manish Sisodia also met with rickshaw pullers and shopkeepers to learn about their problems.
