The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP and its supporters across the country are celebrating the party’s landmark victory in Jammu and Kashmir, as the AAP candidate, Mehraj Malik, secured a resounding victory in the Doda assembly constituency of Jammu and Kashmir. This triumph not only expands AAP’s influence into its fifth state—joining Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat, and Goa—but also signals a significant shift in the region’s political landscape.
On this momentous occasion, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal congratulates Mehraj Malik via video call, praising him for his impressive campaign against the BJP. With this victory, AAP’s caravan has officially arrived in Jammu and Kashmir, marking a new chapter in the party’s journey.
During the video call, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that the AAP workers in the whole country are very happy that Jammu and Kashmir has become the fifth state where AAP has an MLA. Your (Mehraj Malik) work is also commendable. When you met last time, you were doing a very good job. People are with you. During this, when Mehraj Malik invited him to come to Jammu and Kashmir, Arvind Kejriwal said, “I will definitely come. We will decide the date once.”
Meanwhile, Mehraj Malik said that he got inspired from Arvind Kejriwal. “You have taken many steps inside Delhi. This also increased our hopes. We want a big change inside Jammu and Kashmir. We have fought with full might against these people. I had promised the people that we will do a program on October 10. I want you to come to Jammu and Kashmir.”
During this, Mehraj Malik also showed the victory certificate to Arvind Kejriwal. “The change started from Delhi. Now a ray of hope has emerged in Jammu and Kashmir too and now we will move ahead with full strength,” said Mehraj Malik.
On the other hand, senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia posted on his ‘X’ handle: “Many congratulations, Mehraj Malik. With your victory, the Aam Aadmi Party has now entered the assemblies of five states. Many congratulations also to Imran Hussain, the in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann stated, “Many congratulations to AAP candidate Mehraj Malik from Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, for his spectacular victory. AAP’s caravan is growing day by day under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal. Now, AAP has MLAs in five states of the country. Many congratulations to the entire leadership and workers as well. AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh tweeted, “Heartiest congratulations to brother Mehraj Malik on his historic victory from the Doda seat of Jammu and Kashmir. The revolution has begun in Kashmir too. The politics of honesty is moving forward across the country under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal. The people had already decided the victory, and today, it has been announced.”
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi tweeted, “With the victory in the Doda Assembly, Arvind Kejriwal’s revolution has now reached Jammu and Kashmir as well. Congratulations to Mehraj Malik for this spectacular victory.”
AAP National General Secretary (Organisation) Dr. Sandeep Pathak, said, “Congratulations to Mehraj Malik and the people of Doda for this extraordinary achievement. With Jammu and Kashmir joining as a new member, the presence of AAP has now extended to five states.”
AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha thanked the people of Jammu and Kashmir in a tweet. He stated, “A big thank you to the people of Jammu & Kashmir! Senior AAP leader and minister Saurabh Bharadwaj tweeted, “Today, a soldier of Arvind Kejriwal won in Kashmir (Jammu & Kashmir) as well. The Aam Aadmi Party has opened its account.”
After winning the election from the Doda seat, Mehraj Malik tweeted, “The people of Doda have sent a clear message that the oppression has reached its limit. Now, there will be justice and improvement. There will be doctors in the hospitals, schools will improve, and roads will be made better. Now, work will be done for the welfare of the people. In the final round of counting, he secured victory by over 4,000 votes.”
