In a direct challenge to the BJP’s decades-long authoritarian rule in Gujarat, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal will embark on a two-day visit to the state starting Wednesday, joined by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. The two leaders will address massive rallies in Modasa and Dediapada on July 23 and 24, mobilising public sentiment against the BJP’s “30-year reign of arrogance and corruption.” Announcing the visit via his official X handle on Tuesday, the AAP Chief declared that the people of Gujarat are now rising against the “dictatorship” of the BJP regime.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday took to his official X handle and wrote: “In Gujarat, when dairy farmers demanded fair prices for their milk, the BJP government responded with a lathi charge. One protesting farmer tragically lost his life. And when AAP leader Chaitar Vasava raised his voice against this rampant corruption, the government arrested him.”
He added that Gujarat is suffering under the weight of the BJP’s arrogance and misgovernance. “After ruling for three decades, the BJP’s corruption and authoritarianism have reached their peak in Gujarat,” Arvind Kejriwal stated.
The AAP chief further announced that he, along with Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, will embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat. “We are going to Gujarat for two days. We will participate in rallies in Modasa and Dediyapada to stand with the people of Gujarat,” he declared.
