Dwarka witnessed an overwhelming turnout as AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal led a massive Padyatra, resonating with the people’s trust in him and their hope for a brighter future. Addressing the crowd, Arvind Kejriwal emphasized the deteriorating law and order situation because of the BJP, expressing concern over the safety of Delhi’s daughters and the rising gang wars across the city. Pledging to restore safety and livability in the capital, he reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people, highlighting the transformative impact of AAP’s governance in providing free electricity and world-class schools and hospitals.
Supporters carrying cutouts and posters with slogans like “Phir Layenge Kejriwal” thronged the event. Many wore AAP caps and waved the party’s flags, filling the atmosphere with enthusiasm. The crowd passionately chanted slogans in support of Arvind Kejriwal, demonstrating their unwavering faith in his leadership.
The padyatra also saw heartwarming interactions as local residents lined the streets to welcome Arvind Kejriwal with garlands. The streets were packed with people eager to meet their leader, as Arvind Kejriwal, accompanied by local MLA Vinay Mishra and other leaders, walked among the crowd, engaging in conversations and shaking hands. Children were particularly excited to meet him, with many touching his feet for blessings, taking selfies, and even asking for autographs on their hands. The event also saw senior citizens showering Arvind Kejriwal with blessings, while women expressed gratitude for initiatives like free bus travel.
During his address, Arvind Kejriwal highlighted a recent firing incident at a shop in Nangloi. He said, “A shopkeeper opened his store at 8 AM, and by 9:15 AM, two men on a bike arrived and fired indiscriminately at his shop before fleeing. This incident occurred about a month and a half ago. While the police apprehended the two men, the question remains, who sent them? The real culprit, the mastermind, is still at large.”
The AAP Chief added, “I visited his shop today to meet him, but to my shock and dismay, a large group of BJP members gathered there and didn’t allow me to reach his shop. They blocked my car, forcing the shopkeeper to walk to my car to meet me.”
Arvind Kejriwal stated that, “I want to ask Home Minister Amit Shah, what will you achieve by stopping Arvind Kejriwal? Stop the crimes instead. Delhi’s law and order, as well as the Delhi Police, are not under our control; they come under Amit Shah and the Ministry of Home Affairs.”
He further stated, “Look at the condition they’ve brought Delhi to. Shootings are happening openly on the streets of Delhi. Just pick up a newspaper or turn on the TV, and you’ll see incidents of open gunfire everywhere.”
The AAP Supremo emphasised that this reminds me of the 1990s, when Mumbai was in the grip of the underworld, and gang wars made people fear stepping out of their homes. Amit Shah has turned Delhi into a similar nightmare. Women are terrified to go outside. “When a girl leaves for college in the morning, her parents spend the day in constant worry, unsure if their daughter will return home safely. After 7 PM, women and girls don’t dare step out because of how unsafe they feel. Amit Shah has completely destroyed the city’s sense of security,” he asserted.
Arvind Kejriwal continued, “Ten years ago, the people of Delhi placed their trust in me. They asked me to fix the electricity, and I delivered an uninterrupted 24-hour power supply with zero bills. They asked me to improve schools, and I transformed Delhi’s government schools into some of the best.”
He added, “You wanted Mohalla Clinics and hospitals, and I delivered both. On the other hand, you gave Amit Shah the single responsibility of ensuring Delhi’s safety, and he has allowed gang wars to proliferate across the city. We won’t stay silent. If you don’t speak up today, the situation in Delhi will become unlivable, forcing people to leave the city.”
He vowed, “I pledge today to make Delhi safe, whether we have power or not. They say we don’t have authority, but my power doesn’t come from books. It comes from the people. As long as the people of Delhi stand with me, I have all the power I need. Delhi’s two crore citizens will now work together to ensure the city’s safety because these people have completely ruined it.”
The AAP National Convenor said to the supporters, “Every task you gave me, I completed. There are still some things left to do, and we’ll address them. In the next government, we’ll fix all broken roads and resolve water and sewage problems within five years. But our first priority is the safety of our families.”
“We can compromise on our meals, but if the dignity of our mothers and sisters is hampered, where will we go? Many businesspersons meet me and tell me they’re getting extortion calls demanding crores. In Nangloi Jat, I wanted to visit another house, but BJP members didn’t let me go there either. The family had received an extortion call threatening to abduct their child if they didn’t pay Rs 2 crore. What can people do in such a situation? Even approaching the police feels unsafe because people fear retaliation from the gangsters. Look at the state they’ve put us in. We’ll fix this, whatever it takes, even launching a movement,” asserted the AAP Chief.
