Delhi came to a halt after a short spell of rain on Saturday, with waterlogging and traffic chaos reported across the city. AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj launched a fierce attack on the BJP, calling it out for the civic disaster in the national capital despite having absolute control over NDMC, DDA, PWD, and MCD. He said the so-called “four-engine” government has turned into a four-fold failure, leaving the capital sinking with every drizzling instance.
Pointing to BJP-led government’s failure across Delhi agencies after minor rainfall, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj, said on X, “There was a little rain in Delhi on Saturday, and water has accumulated at multiple places. People have been stuck in traffic jams on the roads for hours. The BJP controls all engines including NDMC, DDA, PWD, and the MCD as well. When all four engines are junk, the vehicle doesn’t move four times faster—it consumes four times the fuel and makes four times the noise.”
In another post on X, Saurabh Bharadwaj noted, “From CM Rekha Gupta ji’s own Shalimar Bagh constituency, a voter has made an appeal that if the water doesn’t drain, even homes may collapse. This is the same Sheesh Mahal Park where just a week ago, the Chief Minister, the LG, and others had come for the inauguration. In CM Rekha Gupta’s own constituency, Shalimar Bagh, rainwater has accumulated to such an extent that the underpass had to be closed.”
He also shared videos on X showing waterlogging in several upscale areas of Delhi. In one of his posts, he said, “The scene outside the house of Greater Kailash MLA Shikha Rai—she used to live in Panchsheel Enclave earlier, and then bought a new house in Greater Kailash Part-II.”
