Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor remains unbudged from his clarion call to BJP Administration and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to stop prevailing ‘jungle raj’ in the national capital. The AAP Chief on Monday met the grieving family of a murder victim in Naraina, decrying the “state of lawlessness” gripping Delhi.
Arvind Kejriwal pointed out that the Delhi Police, under the control of Home Minister Amit Shah, did not take any action after criminals murdered two brothers from the same family months apart. “Goons and criminals are roaming freely,” he lamented, urging Amit Shah to act as the capital plunges into fear and lawlessness.
After meeting the bereaved family, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated, “Two days ago, a young man was murdered in the evening. The tragic part is that six months ago, his younger brother was also murdered. His younger brother was murdered on May 22nd. After that incident, the family wrote to the police, informing them that they were facing serious threats from certain individuals and requested protection for their entire family. Unfortunately, the police took no action, and now, the elder brother has also been murdered. This is an extremely sorrowful and alarming situation.”
During his visit to the family, the AAP Supremo spoke to local residents and uncovered troubling details. “When I visited the family to meet them, I found several local residents gathered there. They revealed that the entire Naraina area is aware of five to six individuals who have been wreaking havoc in the locality, troubling everyone. Yet, the police have done nothing to address the issue,” he stated.
Expressing outrage, Arvind Kejriwal demanded answers from the authorities: “After the younger brother’s murder, the family explicitly informed the police about the threats and sought protection. Why did the police fail to act? Now, the elder brother has also lost his life.”
The AAP Chief expressed his disappointment over the insensitivity shown by the Delhi Police toward the grieving family’s protest. “Yesterday, in grief and protest, the family carried the victim’s body and gathered to demand justice. Instead of offering support, the police resorted to lathi charges on the grieving family members. What kind of governance is this? What kind of law and order system is being run in Delhi?”
Arvind Kejriwal also highlighted the broader state of lawlessness in the city. “Yesterday alone, three murders were reported in different parts of the city, along with one attempt-to-murder case. Delhi’s residents are now feeling completely unsafe. Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP have left the people of Delhi at the mercy of gangsters, hooligans, and rapists. There is nobody to protect the people. The people have no hope left; they do not know where to go for protection,” he stated.
Appealing to the BJP leadership, Arvind Kejriwal said, “On behalf of Delhiites, I, with folded hands, urge the BJP leadership, the people of Delhi have never witnessed such chaos and lawlessness. It feels like a ‘jungle raj’ where anyone can be murdered at any time. When it was known that the people involved in the younger brother’s murder could also harm the elder brother or other family members, why was no action taken? Hearing about two murders within the same family is deeply saddening.”
The AAP Head concluded by urging Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP to take responsibility and act immediately. “I request Amit Shah and the BJP to provide security to the people of Delhi. The situation in the city has deteriorated drastically, and residents feel extremely unsafe. Please take concrete steps to address this dire state of affairs.”
