After 17 months behind bars, senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, has wasted no time in reclaiming his role in the political arena. After the BJP’s conspiracy to put him in jail, Manish Sisodia is now spearheading AAP’s preparations for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Just three days after his release, he convened a high-level strategy meeting with top AAP leaders, signaling a fierce battle ahead. Manish Sisodia’s relentless push will see him meeting with party MLAs on August 12, and councilors on August 13, followed by a padayatra (Foot march) from August 14 onwards across Delhi to expose BJP’s attempts to hinder Delhi’s progress.
During this meeting, Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia gathered feedback on the current political situation in Delhi, leading to a detailed discussion on strategies to defeat the BJP, including the aim of having their candidates lose their security deposits in the assembly elections. The leaders’ suggestions were carefully considered, and a consensus was reached on how to proceed strategically based on the prevailing circumstances. The meeting was attended by senior leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, National General Secretary (Organisation) and MP Dr. Sandeep Pathak, Delhi State Convenor and Minister Gopal Rai, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Atishi, Imran Hussain, National Secretary Pankaj Gupta, MLA Durgesh Pathak, senior leader Jasmine Shah, and other key figures.
Regarding the high-level party meeting held under the leadership of Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia, National General Secretary (Organisation) Dr. Sandeep Pathak said that it has been decided in the meeting that a meeting of all the MLAs will be held on Monday, which all the points will be discussed in detail. After this, Manish Sisodia will hold a meeting with all the party councilors on Tuesday. After this, from August 14, Manish Sisodia will go on a ‘Padyatra’ (Foot march) across Delhi to meet the people of Delhi and talk to the people.
The AAP National General Secretary (Organisation) further added, “It is now clear to the people of this country that the only agenda of BJP and PM Narendra Modi, is to somehow stop the work of the people of Delhi and break the AAP. Despite so many adverse circumstances, today the AAP is standing tall and doing good work. Also, our party is moving forward in every state. We have come out of these difficulties stronger. Manish Sisodia will go among the people and meet them. The blessings of the people remain on us. We will continue to work hard for Delhi in the future too.”
On the question of giving any post to Manish Sisodia, Dr. Sandeep Pathak said that Arvind Kejriwal will decide on this in the coming time. At present, we are preparing for the Haryana elections. So far, we have held about 40 to 50 public meetings in Haryana, in which CM Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal also participated and MP Sanjay Singh is also continuously attending the meetings. “There is a very good atmosphere for the AAP in Haryana. We will contest the assembly elections with full strength and will give a tough fight. The meeting held on Sunday was focused on the Delhi assembly elections. Our election campaign is already going on in Haryana,” he added.
We are confident that Delhiites will not give even a single seat to BJP: Saurabh Bharadwaj
Before the meeting, senior AAP leader and Minister in the Delhi Cabinet Saurabh Bharadwaj said that ever since Manish Sisodia returned home from jail after 17 months, there has been a lot of enthusiasm among our leaders, party cadre and the people of Delhi, and people are stopping us on the road and congratulating us. People are visiting the homes of our MLAs and congratulating them, people are distributing laddus in the offices of MLAs. Amidst such enthusiasm, all the senior AAP leaders will discuss how to get the security deposits forfeited of the BJP in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections. I am fully confident that in the upcoming assembly elections, Delhiites will not give even a single seat to BJP.
