The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) strengthened its Delhi unit with the appointment of Mustafabad constituency candidate Adil Ahmad Khan as Delhi State General Secretary. Marking the occasion, a massive show of strength was held in Mustafabad Assembly where Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj, senior leaders including MLA Sanjeev Jha, Imran Hussain, Kuldeep Kumar, Aaley Mohammad Iqbal, Zubair Chaudhary, district officials and hundreds of workers joined the grand felicitation, with leaders honoured in traditional style with turbans and flower garlands.
Congratulating Adil Ahmad Khan on being appointed Delhi Unit General Secretary, AAP Delhi Unit President Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “Adil Ahmad Khan is a long-time soldier of the Aam Aadmi Party. From the days of the movement to the journey of coming into power, he has contributed immensely. At every step, he has stood shoulder to shoulder with the party in strengthening it. In the past too, recognising his hard work and dedication, the party has honoured him with various posts and responsibilities.”
Highlighting his political journey, Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “It was because of his honesty and hard work that the party fielded him as an MLA candidate from Mustafabad. Even today, the Aam Aadmi Party has complete faith in his effort and commitment, which is why he has once again been honoured with the post of Delhi State General Secretary. In the past too, Adil Ahmad Khan has fulfilled all his responsibilities with honesty and dedication, and I am confident that in the future as well, he will continue with the same integrity and loyalty, devoting himself wholeheartedly to strengthening the party organisation.”
Addressing party karyakartas at the programme, Saurabh Bharadwaj added, “Dedicated karyakarta(s) are the backbone of the Aam Aadmi Party. The karyakartas of Mustafabad constituency have always served the party with their body, mind and soul, working tirelessly to strengthen it. I assure you that just as you have always stood with every office bearer, every MLA candidate, every councillor candidate, and every decision taken by the party in Mustafabad with full honesty and loyalty, you will now stand united with Adil Ahmad Khan and contribute fully to strengthening the organisation. The workers have also assured that they will support Adil Ahmad Khan with complete dedication in this mission.”
Expressing gratitude for the new responsibility, Adil Ahmad Khan said, “I am deeply thankful to Arvind Kejriwal for the trust he has placed in me. In the past too, the party has given me different responsibilities in the organisation at different times, and I have always fulfilled my duties with honesty and dedication.”
He added, “Today, party chief Arvind Kejriwal has once again placed his faith in me by appointing me as the General Secretary of the Delhi Unit. I assure Arvind Kejriwal, all Aam Aadmi Party leaders, and all workers that I will carry out this responsibility with complete honesty and commitment, and will work tirelessly to further strengthen the party organisation in Delhi. I promise that I will never do anything that could harm the reputation of Arvind Kejriwal or the Aam Aadmi Party.”
