New Delhi, April 15

The conspiracy of the BJP and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to send the top leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party behind bars to break their morale has fallen flat. Instead of being discouraged, their courage to continue the fight against dictatorship has increased. They are now fighting this battle with more strength and dedication. Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha member Shri Sanjay Singh, who came out of jail after spending six months behind bars, has given proof of this by releasing a video in which he looks confident while strolling in a park.

Through the video message, he thanked the Prime Minister for sending him to jail. He said that by sending him to jail, Shri Narendra Modi has strengthened his 30 years of struggle and determination. He said that if the Prime Minister had not given me this opportunity, I would neither have been able to know myself nor understand that we are walking on the right path. After spending six months in jail, I have come out of penance to prepare the path ahead and to further strengthen those paths. What I was doing was absolutely right. I will move forward on the same path with more strength.

Ten days after his release from jail, Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh in a video message shared his experience of being in jail for 6 months and how his term in jail gave him the opportunity to think about his journey, meet his heroes, and prepare for his journey ahead. AAP senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh was arrested on 4th October 2023 in the Delhi excise policy case and was granted bail on 2nd April 2024 by the Supreme Court.

In the video message, Shri Sanjay Singh stated, “I have been out of the jail for the last 10 days and I have been sleeping peacefully. I was in jail for 6 months and I was kept in isolation for a few days. Perhaps if the Prime Minister had not given me this opportunity, I would not have been able to meet myself. I would not have been able to meet all those great men or talk to all those revolutionaries about whom I used to hear and hear stories. I was able to meet them. Because when a person is alone in complete solace, he gets a chance to think and understand a lot. I met Nelson Mandela ji, what a great revolutionary life he had.”

“I met Bhagat Singh ji and after reading about his life further, I came to know how a 23 year old young man sacrificed everything for the freedom of India. I met Ashfaqulla ji, Roshan Singh ji, Rajendra Lahiri ji, Ram Prasad Bismil ji. I read about a lot of revolutionaries to understand them better. I read the documents from the Kala Pani Jail and then I realised, the past 30 years that I have dedicated to social service and politics to serve the people, maybe I was on the right path,” he added.

He further stated, “When I read about Shri Mahatma Gandhi, I realised that we were walking on the right path. If this 6 month jail journey wouldn’t have happened, I wouldn’t have been able to think whether my path of struggle was right or wrong.”

Shri Sanjay Singh also took potshots at the PM for sending him to jail, “I would like to thank Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for giving me this opportunity to talk to myself, to make my path even stronger. Last 6 months of jail have made me even stronger to prepare for the path ahead.”

Shri Sanjay Singh concluded by saying, “I want to say one more thing that today many mediums have been sold but history is something that cannot be sold. All your actions get recorded in history as it is. People will eventually decide what is right and what is wrong. I don’t know the intention with which Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi sent me to jail but whatever his intentions may have been, I can only say this, Thank You Modi Ji. You have validated my 30 years of struggle and also given me the assurance that the work I was doing was absolutely right. I will move forward on the same path with more strength.”
