Aiming to provide citizens with smoother and more efficient commuting experiences, the Kejriwal Government has approved a project to beautify the city’s one of the most important stretches- from Timarpur Red Light to Chandagi Ram Akhara. This stretch set to undergo beautification has important buildings like Vidhan Sabha, Metcalf House, Vikas Bhawan-II, Trauma Centre etc.

It is to be noted that the design and estimate for beautification of the said stretch was approved by PWD Minister Atishi recently.

Under the project, the beauty of the road will be enhanced with splendid horticulture, and the road will be illuminated with LED lights. Along with beautifying the road, there will also be a focus on making it user-friendly. Necessary changes will be made in the footpath to facilitate pedestrians. To enhance the beauty of the road stretch, sculptures will be installed along with street furniture.

Stating about the project, PWD Minister Atishi said, “Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the government has committed significant resources to make the Delhi roads world-class. In view of the same, a project to beautify the stretch between Timarpur red light to Chandgi Ram Akhara has been approved.”

She further mentioned that as part of the beautification process, the government will focus not only on enhancing the beauty of the road but also on making it user-friendly. This includes necessary changes in the footpath for the convenience of pedestrians. Sculptures will be installed along with street furniture to enhance the beauty of the road stretch.

PWD Minister Atishi said this road stretch frequently witnesses VVIP movements. The beautification initiative will improve both the aesthetic appeal and overall experience for the lakhs of commuters.

PWD Minister also directed to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the commuters during the construction and all the standards of high-quality roads globally are followed.

With a focus on crafting a robust and safe transportation network, this project underscores the government’s commitment to meeting global standards and ensuring an excellent commuting experience for Delhi’s citizens.
