The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said that the excise policy case against Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP leaders is the biggest political conspiracy after independence.
Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh on Tuesday, Sanjay Singh said this case has been registered under a conspiracy and there is no intention of investigating any scam. The main motive is to topple the Aam Aadmi Party governments in Delhi and Punjab, both the governments that came with thumping majority. It is an attempt to stop the growing popularity of the Aam Aadmi Party and its achievement of getting national party status in 10 years. He said that if anyone has committed any scam, it is the BJP and trail of Rs 60 crore has been found against them. Everyone knows that but still no action has been taken against any BJP leader yet.
“When it comes to Shri Arvind Kejriwal, false witnesses are prepared, baseless allegations are levelled against him. Around 10 statements of the suspects were recorded but only 2 were produced in the court. The rest are hidden because they do not match their propaganda since Arvind Kejriwal’s name is not mentioned. Magunta Reddy gave 10 statements, in the last 2 statements as soon as he mentioned Arvind Kejriwal’s name, his son Raghav Reddy was granted bail. Magunta Reddy, against whom the BJP and the ED actually started this investigation, is now asking for votes under the NDA’s banner and is using Modi’s picture in his election campaign. Sarath Chandra Reddy gave 12 statements, out of which only the last two statements in which Arvind Kejriwal’s name is mentioned, are used in the court. He was also granted bail due to backache as soon as he gave statement against Shri Arvind Kejriwal,” he said.
Shri Sanjay Singh further stated that Chandan Reddy, another witness, whose eardrums were torn, he even appealed against it to the High Court. Sameer Mahendru and Arun Pillai were also pressurized and intimated to name Shri Arvind Kejriwal because they wanted to frame this whole case against him. He said, “I want to ask this from the most corrupt party, BJP, and their government that when a money trail of Rs 60 crores was found directly leading to your bank accounts, then why are your leaders not being interrogated by the ED and the CBI? Why has the LG not written a letter for investigation yet?”
“What is the reason that the company whose profit is zero or is even running in loss, that company is giving hundreds of crores of funds to you people? There are fake firms and companies donating hundreds of crores to the BJP, why ED and CBI are not investigating that? These shell companies are donating to the BJP for elections. Where are the Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax Department, and CBI now? Why don’t BJP leaders get questioned and arrested? Why aren’t they raided” he questioned.
Shri Sanjay Singh reiterated that this entire case is fabricated, it is only a political conspiracy against Shri Arvind Kejriwal. The statements that did not mention his name are deliberately being left out of the proceedings and are not being put in front of the court. If all the facts are not presented before the court, then how will justice be done? Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s lawyers are doing their work, the lawyers are constantly inspecting the documents. He hoped that soon Shri Arvind Kejriwal will get justice from the Supreme Court. Truth shall prevail, he added.
The Rajya Sabha MP continued that there is a proper procedure of the judicial system and sometimes the judicial proceedings take time. There are many irregularities in PMLA and under its provisions getting bail is very difficult when you do not present the whole truth before the court and the whole matter is not coming before the court. More than 20,000 pages have been kept as ‘unreliable documents, by the ED, which means 20,000 papers are being hidden by the ED and they are saying that they don’t trust them. However, under section 15 of the PMLA, it is clearly mentioned that no one can give false statements, if you give false testimony then legal action will be taken against you. If there are statements that are unreliable then why no action is being taken against the people who gave those statements. A person gave eight statements before he took the name of Arvind Kejriwal, the ED just uses the 2 statements he gives against Shri Arvind Kejriwal and hides the rest, and then that person in granted bail.
“Sarath Reddy gave 12 statements, he got arrested on November 10 and on November 15 he gave huge donations to the BJP amounting to Rs 55 crore between his arrest and bail through electoral bonds. Will there be no investigation into the bribe of Rs 55 crores? So, we have complete trust in our judiciary that when the hidden statements will be presented before the court, Shri Arvind Kejriwal will get relief and this false case will be quashed. The false statements are taken by tormenting and intimidating the witnesses, this is on record,” he said.
Shri Sanjay Singh said it keeps happening, lower court’s verdict can be changed by the High Court, High Court’s judgement gets changed by the Supreme Court, bench keeps changing the decisions, and so on. The judicial proceedings can take a long time, nearly early 80% of the people are under trial. He further stated, “Right now in our country, there is such a government that even changes the decision of the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court judges inside the Parliament. You must remember that five judges had given the decision in favour of the Delhi government that certain powers should be with the Delhi government. Despite this, the dictator Prime Minister changed the decision given in favour of Delhi, in favour of democracy and constitution, the decision of five judges was changed in the Parliament. When the Chief Justice of India was included in the process of appointment of Election Commissioners, the Prime Minister and the BJP government said that no, we will appoint the Election Commissioners and the Supreme Court’s decision was changed inside the Parliament once again.”
He said when the ED and the CBI have to investigate against Shri Arvind Kejriwal, they become all powerful and know it all but when it comes to the BJP, they say that we do not remember anything, we did not see anything, this is a blatant misuse of investigation agencies.
“We will contest Lok Sabha elections with full strength on all 23 seats on which we are contesting. On remaining seats we will wholeheartedly support the INDIA alliance. The BJP’s claim of 400 plus is just a hollow slogan, nothing else. Now Modi is just getting nervous, and this nervousness is because he knows they are losing,” he concluded.
