Yet another Dr. B. R. Ambedkar School of Specialised Excellence was inaugurated by Education Minister Atishi today, in the Kohat Enclave area of Delhi. The new magnificent four-storey school building is divided into 3 blocks and comprises 50 classrooms. Additionally, there are 9 labs, 2 libraries, offices, staff rooms, activity rooms, world-class sports facilities, toilet blocks on every floor, and an elevator. The school also features a fully air-conditioned multi-purpose hall with a capacity of 290 individuals. This ASoSE caters to High-End 21st Century Skills and Humanities specialisations.

It is to be noted that this new school has the capacity to accommodate nearly 1,000 students and will benefit children from Pitampura, Anandvas Resettlement Colony, Mongolpuri, Sultanpuri, and select areas of Rohini.

While congratulating the students on the inauguration of ASoSE in Kohat Enclave, Education Minister Atishi said, “The magnificent school building here is an inspiration for the children. By studying well here and working hard, they can also become individuals who will create such excellent government schools for other children in the future.”

She added, “I have studied from a private school in Delhi. But now, whenever I visit any Delhi government school during an inauguration or inspection, I can confidently say that they are much better than any private school in Delhi. This is a matter of immense pride for us. In 2015, when Shri Arvind Kejriwal became the Chief Minister of Delhi, Delhi government schools were in shambles and required immediate attention. There were no desks and benches for students, blackboard windows and fans in classrooms were broken, and there was no drinking water facility. When students used to come to such schools 8 years ago, they felt they had no future. They always thought only those studying in costly private schools had a future. This thought not only demotivated them but also put them in self-doubt. Students were always doubtful about their future and career.”

However, in 2015, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal pledged to ensure high-quality education for every child in Delhi. To fulfill this commitment, he did everything possible, whether it was constructing magnificent school buildings, equipping classrooms with modern technology, providing new desks and benches, or offering international-level training to teachers. Today, we are witnessing the results of these efforts. For the past 7 years, the board results of Delhi government schools have surpassed those of private schools. While parents across the country are shifting their children from government schools to private schools, Delhi stands out as the only state where parents are moving their children from private schools to government schools. This is the outcome of the Delhi Education Revolution spearheaded by CM Arvind Kejriwal. Over the past few years, more than 4 lakh students have transitioned from private schools to Delhi government schools, the Education Minister stated.

Atishi further remarked, “I recall that when the Kejriwal government was formed in 2015, it was during the school admission season. People used to approach us seeking recommendations for admission to well-known private schools. But I am delighted that today people come to us seeking recommendations for admission to the Kejriwal government’s Schools of Specialised Excellence. This marks a significant shift in Delhi’s education system. Previously, parents stood in long queues at private schools for their children’s admission, but today the same queues form outside Delhi government schools whenever admissions open. Now, when admissions open for Delhi Government’s Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Schools of Specialised Excellence, we receive over 90,000 applications for 4,400 seats.”

All these reforms have been implemented for every child in Delhi, ensuring they have the opportunity to learn and thrive. She urged students to take advantage of the world-class facilities provided in Delhi government schools and focus on their studies and contribute to the progress and development of the nation.

Adding to the words of Education Minister, MLA Tri Nagar, Preeti Jitendra Tomar said, “Inauguration of this school is a matter of great pride for all the people of this constituency. I am grateful to the Kejriwal Government, Education Minister and architect of Delhi Education Revolution Shri Manish Sisodia who turned this people’s dream of having a world-class school in the area into a reality. This school is a ray of hope for a brighter future for many children of this area.”
