Delhi will soon become garbage-free. For the first time, a mega cleanliness campaign has been initiated in the MCD area. Informing about the same Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi said, “Under the guidance of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, a mega cleanliness campaign has been started in all 250 wards of Delhi. A garbage-free Delhi will soon become a reality. Now is the time for us to set an example for the coming years. All ‘AAP’ councilors, legislators, and MCD sanitation workers have come together to start a significant cleanliness campaign from today.”

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal congratulated and wished luck on the initiation of the Mega Cleaning Campaign by the MCD. “Now, Delhi will be absolutely clean. I have full hope that this campaign will undoubtedly be successful, and our Delhi will become clean and tidy”, he said in his tweet.

MCD In-Charge and AAP MLA Shri Durgesh Pathak stated that 3,000 teams have been formed for the campaign across Delhi. A team has been established for monitoring over 50 lanes in Delhi. They will inspect the lanes in the morning and file complaints immediately if they find litter in the lanes, so that immediate action can be taken.

Shri Durgesh Pathak stated, “For the last 15 years, BJP has been in power in the MCD, the people of Delhi had given them one job, clean Delhi, every lane, every road and every park should be clean, but in 15 years they didn’t do anything instead they made Delhi, a pile of rubbles. Not just this, BJP didn’t pay salaries to the employees on time, they transformed MCD into a defunct organization. The BJP leadership was not interested in working for the people of Delhi, for weeks debris used to remain, there was chaos and protests: Sanitation Workers, doctors and officials were protesting at times”.

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal congratulated and wished luck on the initiation of the Mega Cleaning Campaign by the MCD. “Now, Delhi will be absolutely clean. I have full hope that this campaign will undoubtedly be successful, and our Delhi will become clean and tidy”, he said in his tweet.

Shri Durgesh Pathak further emphasized why the people of Delhi kicked the BJP out of Power from the MCD and handed it to AAP, led by CM Arvind Kejriwal. “Within the five months, Shri Arvind Kejriwal has done unthinkable, he has started giving salaries to all employees irrespective of their grades on the 1st date of the month, be it Commissioner, Peons, Sanitation Workers or DBC employees”.

Shri Durgesh Pathak further emphasized the need for cleaning Delhi on a priority basis. He said that as per the instructions given by CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, from today onwards all the Councillors, MCD employees, and MCD officials, are on the ground.

“This is not a movement for the photo shoot, this, is a movement for cleaning Delhi. We have proper planning for this, this campaign is not for a day or two, it will run for 365 days continuously. To make this happen we have created 3000 teams, a team per 30-40 lanes to look for remains. Teams will monitor each locality and click photos of the remains if there are any and then they will upload it on the MCD App ‘311’ and MCD officials will resolve the issue immediately”, Shri Durgesh Pathak added.

“We have one goal, clean Delhi. Delhi is the national capital and it must be clean, this resolution ‘AAP’ has taken, from today itself we are starting this campaign, the MCD Mayor, Deputy-Mayor, leader of the house and including myself, will go to monitor 2-3 wards every day. We will monitor every lane, ward, and constituency and we will make sure that there is no pile of rubbles in Delhi”, Shri Durgesh Pathak stated.

Present on the occasion MCD Deputy-Mayor Shri Aaley Mohammad Iqbal stated that the promises Shri Arvind Kejriwal made to the people of Delhi before the elections, with their blessings, AAP is fulfilling it.

He further said, “We have made a special place in the hearts of the people of Delhi, employees are getting their salaries on time – and are celebrating almost as if it is Diwali and Eid in their houses. Today, we inspected Sadar Bazaar, Chandni Mahal and Sitaram Bazaar. We have 134 AAP councillors in MCD who will be participating in the campaign. Even in those areas where our candidates lost, they too will actively participate in the movement in their wards. Each soldier of Shri Arvind Kejriwal is actively participating with the people of Delhi.”

Aaley Mohammad Iqbal saluted the 2 crore people of Delhi for their active participation in the movement in all 250 wards. He said each shopkeeper, RWA and the ward is supporting Shri Arvind Kejriwal in this movement.

I want to salute the enthusiasm of each MCD employee and official for their participation in the campaign. We take Delhi to greater heights under the leadership of Shri Arvind Kejriwal”, Shri Aaley Mohammad Iqbal concluded.
