Durgesh Pathak, Prabhari of the Aam Aadmi Party Goa, issued a statement in light of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019 which will be held after almost two months. As Aam Aadmi Party gears up for the election campaign, Aam Aadmi Party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) has chosen Elvis Gomes as its candidate from South Goa.
Elvis Gomes has worked as an officer in the Government of Goa for a long time. His expertise in crisis and conflict resolution had been a source of inspiration for many. He has been working in different departments of the government such as urban development department, tourism department and port etc. Elvis Gomes is also known for his far-sighted reforms in the jails as IG.
Elvis Golmes believes that a lack of accountability is the main cause behind the poor state of governance in India. He believes that the perspective of a common man is ignored while making policies that affect them. Resultant, non political people like himself participate in active politics to assert the voice of a common man.
According him, Aam Aadmi Party’s pro people policies and vision inspired him to join AAP. He says, Aam Aadmi Party is the only party that seeks and ensures active public participation while formulating laws and schemes.
