NEW DELHI:

Raising the alarm, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has urged citizens nationwide to remain vigilant in safeguarding the sanctity of the country’s constitution and democratic values against perceived authoritarian tendencies of the Modi government. Senior AAP leader, Shri Sanjay Singh, issued a stark warning, highlighting the BJP’s bid to acquire 400 seats in a bid to strip away the fundamental rights enshrined in Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s Constitution, including the right to vote. The AAP Rajya MP emphasized that should the Modi government return to power, the 2024 elections could potentially mark the final stand for democracy as we know it.

On Thursday, while addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, Senior AAP Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh said that the idea is becoming increasingly strong in the minds of political leaders and the people of the country that the 2024 election is the final election. If, even by mistake, the Modi government comes back, then these people will change the Constitution, abolish elections and reservations. They (BJP) will snatch away the rights of farmers, youth, and women. Now this concern is becoming stronger every day. There are not just one but several examples of people harbouring the notion of changing the Constitution and strengthening it.

The AAP Rajya Sabha MP further said, “The Home Minister of the country has said that BJP will rule for 50 years. Where did he come up with this idea? It is the people who decide who will win or lose the elections. In 2017, one of the prominent leaders of the RSS Manmohan Vaidya said reservation should be abolished in the country. Baba Saheb Ambedkar wrote the Constitution of India for the people of the country. But for the BJP, the prominent RSS leaders wrote the Constitution. The RSS has no faith in the Constitution of the country. That is why they want to change Baba Saheb’s Constitution. They want to shred it into pieces.

“If the ‘Nagpur Constitution’ is implemented by the BJP, then the Prime Minister arrogantly said that even if Baba Saheb himself comes back, he cannot change the Constitution. What challenge are Modi Ji and RSS posing to Baba Saheb? Baba Saheb has given birth to the Constitution like a child, why would he kill it? Why would he make any changes? The intention to bring about change lies in the minds of Modi Ji, RSS, and the people sitting in Nagpur. After changing the Constitution, there won’t even be a need to conduct elections in the country, just like in Russia under Putin and in Korea under Kim Jong Un,” he added.

Shri Sanjay Singh mentioned that (RSS chief) Mohan Bhagwat in 2015 said, before the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections, that reservation should be abolished in the country and there should be a review of it. Later, when attacks started happening on him, then he started backtracking.

MP Shri Sanjay Singh said that PM Narendra Modi, BJP MPs, and leaders are demanding 400 seats by touring extensively. Modi Ji doesn’t need 400 seats for his work, nor for providing jobs, controlling inflation, doubling farmers’ income, providing everyone with a permanent house, bringing back black money, or depositing ₹15 lakhs in everyone’s account. Modi Ji is not asking for votes on these issues. Instead, Modi Ji doesn’t discuss issues like the electoral bonds scam and demonetization, waiving off ₹15 lakh crores of capitalists. Rather, Modi Ji is demanding 400 seats because he wants to change the country’s constitution.

“The BJP MP from Ayodhya, Lallu Singh, openly says in a meeting that they (BJP) need 400 seats because they want to change the constitution. BJP’s Lok Sabha election candidate Jyoti Mirdha and former Central Minister Anant Hegde also asked to give 400 seats because they want to change the constitution. Recently, BJP candidate Arun Govil from Meerut said that the BJP needs 400 seats because they want to change the constitution. Arun Govil is considered close to the Prime Minister. The BJP wants to change India’s constitution. They want to snatch the rights of 85% of the people of this country, reservations from Dalits, backward classes, tribals, and minorities, youth’s rights, and the rights of farmers to MSP. They want to snatch away the rights of vote of the people of the country for which big leaders, chief ministers, and prime ministers bow before the people.

Shri Sanjay Singh shared that behind Prime Minister Modi’s many decisions, the intention to change the constitution becomes evident. The bench of five judges of the Supreme Court had announced the decision to give “Services” to Delhi’s elected government. But Modi Ji changed the decision of the Supreme Court by bringing a law in Parliament. When the Supreme Court placed the Chief Justice in the committee appointing election commissioners, the Modi government changed the decision of the court by bringing a law. These incidents indicate that the Prime Minister wants to bring the Nagpur Constitution to the country.

“If anyone tries to tamper with the Constitution of the country written by Baba Saheb B.R Ambedkar, we will fight with our lives at stake. We will not allow anyone to tamper with Baba Saheb’s Constitution. We will not let Modi Ji abolish reservations or take away the rights of farmers and youth. Since 2019, the Modi government has shown a trailer of changing the constitution. After winning the 2024 elections, the RSS and Nagpur Constitution will be implemented in the country. Their Nagpur Constitution says that reservation should be abolished in the country,” the AAP MP affirmed.

During this time, Shri Sanjay Singh showed RSS’s one of chief leaders, Manmohan Vaidya’s statement from 2017 in front of the media, in which he was saying that giving reservations increases separatism. Shri Sanjay Singh said that our nation’s builders, including Baba Saheb, Dr. Lohia, and JP Narayan, taught us that providing reservations is a principle of special opportunities. Reservation gives the right to uplift the oppressed and marginalized in society. But Manmohan Vaidya is saying that reservation is an attempt to increase separatism. This is the mentality of the RSS and BJP.

“This is evidence that if the Modi government comes in 2024, reservation will be abolished. In addition, statements of RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Home Minister Amit Shah in 2019, BJP candidate Arun Govil from Meerut, Jyoti Mirdha, former Central Minister Anant Hegde, and BJP MP Lallu Singh from Ayodhya, he presented, in which these people are saying that there is nothing wrong in changing the constitution. To change the constitution, a majority is needed in both houses of parliament. We must bring a majority to make strict changes in the constitution,” he added.

“I want to alert all Dalits, backward classes, and tribals, along with every citizen of the country. The 140-crore people of this country should be alert. If they (BJP) win, they will snatch the power of your vote. They want to rule the country for 50 years. That’s why these people will abolish elections and reservations. After that, no one will come to solve your problems in the country. No one will come in front of you to ask for votes with a bowed head. Then you will neither be able to ask for your rights nor raise your voice in front of them,” Shri Sanjay Singh concluded.
