New Delhi, 02 April 2024;

Meeting the wife of Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal for the first time after his arrest, all the ministers and MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party urged her to convey to the CM that 2-crore people of Delhi are with him, and he should not resign from the post of chief minister. During this, all AAP councilors also met with Smt Sunita Kejriwal and said, “We all stand firmly with the Chief Minister.”

All the MLAs told Smt Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister, at CM residence on Tuesday that they all stand united with Shri Arvind Kejriwal.

Addressing the media, Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj stated that various leaders and MLAs were trying to meet Smt. Sunita Kejriwal ever since Shri Arvind Kejriwal was arrested. The situations were not right, only one or two people were able to meet her. Various demonstrations took place against the central government, MLAs were engaged in those. Then they were busy in the preparations of the Maharally on 31st March. So today, all the MLAs came together to meet Smt. Sunita Kejriwal. One by one, all the MLAs discussed their points with Smt. Sunita Kejriwal.

“The MLAs told her that the BJP will exert immense pressure, they will give various arguments that Shri Arvind Kejriwal must resign from the CM post. They will run a whole campaign to compel him to resign, exactly how they pressurized the CM to resign when the Lokpal Bill was not getting passed. Once he gave the resignation, they said that the CM has absconded. It is the policy of the BJP to make a trap and force the CM to resign. Now that Smt. Sunita Kejriwal is the only one who will be able to meet the CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal and talk to him, she will be our only medium to take the message of the party to the CM and bring back his message for the party.”

“All the MLAs requested her to give their message to the CM that Shri Arvind Kejriwal was, is, and will be the Chief Minister of Delhi.”

Smt. Sunita Kejriwal also gave the CM’s message to the party that Shri Arvind Kejriwal is extremely proud of the fact that the MLAs, councillors, and the entire INDIA Alliance successfully organized such a massive rally at Ramlila Maidan, even though he was not with them. Millions of people joined them. The CM said that it gave a clear message that as long as he is in the jail, the problems for the BJP will keep increasing.

The AAP MLAs also requested Smt. Sunita Kejriwal to give an update on his health condition. On behalf of the CM, she said, “The MLAs must not worry about me, I am well, I am strong, and my intentions are stronger than before.”

Smt. Sunita Kejriwal is going to have a video conference with the CM and will share our message with him, Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj said.

On being asked if the CM will be changed and if it will be Smt. Sunita Kejriwal, Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj stated that these are baseless rumours spread by the BJP. The BJP has been waiting to come into power in Delhi for almost 25 years. It is still as far from the BJP as it was 25 years ago.

Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj also stated that the Tihar jail has now started giving the provision to the inmates to talk to their family via video conferencing. Shri Manish Sisodia and Shri Sanjay Singh were also talking to their families via video conferencing only. Shri Arvind Kejriwal will be communicating with Smt. Sunita Kejriwal at 1 pm via a video conference.

On BJP’s claim that Shri Arvind Kejriwal is promoting familism by promoting Smt. Sunita Kejriwal in his place, and why he hasn’t resigned yet even though he took resignations from other ministers when they were arrested. Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “This is what I’m saying that the BJP has been spreading rumours so that they can come into power. BJP wants us to give them the chair. Their stomachs are hurting that we are not giving up, and we don’t have any solution for that.”
