The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday laid bare of the “four-engine BJP government’s cosmetic cleanup of the Yamuna,” after Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj’s prediction came true within hours. Around 7 a.m., Saurabh Bharadwaj posted a video on X showing thick layers of white foam floating near Kalindi Kunj and warned that the BJP government would soon panic and begin spraying chemicals to hide the pollution. Just as he predicted, the government hastily deployed several boats into the river and started spraying defoaming chemicals to dissolve the toxic foam.
Around 11 a.m. on Friday, AAP Delhi Unit Chief Saurabh Bharadwaj shared a second video on X showing several boats spraying chemicals into the Yamuna to dissolve the toxic foam. “After our morning video of the foaming Yamuna went viral, the BJP government immediately began spraying chemicals. Multiple boats are pouring the same chemical into the river that the BJP itself once called poison,” Saurabh Bharadwaj remarked.
Earlier in the day, the AAP Delhi Unit Chief had shared another video from Kalindi Kunj, exposing the BJP government’s false claims of having cleaned the Yamuna. “Even at 7 a.m. on Friday, the pollution and foam in the river were just the same,” he stated, warning that the government would soon panic and deploy boats to spray chemicals merely to reduce the foam’s appearance. “But removing foam does not remove pollution. The truth is visible to the naked eye — and all one can see is foam upon foam,” he added.
Challenging the BJP’s tall claims, Saurabh Bharadwaj urged CM Rekha Gupta and her ministers to come to Kalindi Kunj and drink a litre of Yamuna water themselves if they truly believe the river is clean.
