Exposing the so-called ‘four-engine’ BJP government’s complete failure on law and order in Delhi, senior AAP leader and Kondli MLA Kuldeep Kumar said that Delhi has now become the crime capital of India under Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s watch. Citing the government’s own agency, National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) 2023 report, he stated that crime in Delhi rose by 1% last year with 3.23 lakh cases registered, and warned that if this trend continues, 2025 will shatter all records. He added that Delhi Police has failed both in preventing crime and in filing chargesheets, making the city unsafe for women, children and senior citizens.
Highlighting Delhi’s law and order situation, senior AAP leader and Kondli MLA Kuldeep Kumar stated, “The law and order of Delhi is in the hands of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. While he is Home Minister, every day incidents of stabbings, lootings, rapes and molestations are being reported.”
He pointed out, “Today, women are not safe in Delhi. Elderly people who go for morning walks live in fear. Lakhs of children go to school, but parents receive bomb threat messages. Imagine what a parent must go through when their child is in school and there is a threat to blow up the school with a bomb. Big private schools are repeatedly receiving bomb threats, but the intelligence system of the Central Government is unable to trace the source.”
Referring to recent incidents, Kuldeep Kumar said, “Even the Delhi High Court received a threat by email to blow it up with a bomb, after which the entire premises had to be vacated. The safety of Delhi residents is now left to God. The so-called ‘four-engine’ BJP government is busy abusing Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party, posing for photographs, making reels and spreading false propaganda. On the other hand, the Lieutenant Governor (LG) is also missing, as no statement is coming from him anymore.”
Citing the NCRB 2023 data, he added, “With a 1% increase in cases, Delhi has reached the top position in the country in terms of crime. According to the data, 2.98 lakh crime cases were registered in Delhi in 2022, while in 2023 this number increased to 3.23 lakh. Delhi has also topped the list of crimes against senior citizens. The situation is such that Delhi is at the top in every kind of crime, but in terms of filing chargesheets, Delhi Police is at the lowest level. That is why kidnappings and murders are on the rise.”
Drawing a comparison with the previous AAP government, Kuldeep Kumar further added, “Arvind Kejriwal set records in education. During his government, children studying in government schools made headlines across the country, but under the BJP rule, it is crime that is making headlines.”
“For the last 11 years, BJP has been in power at the Centre, and the responsibility of Delhi lies under the Union Home Minister. BJP has control over the Centre, the Lieutenant Governor, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). Delhiites chose the BJP and gave them this so-called four-engine government, yet Delhi is not safe because criminals are thriving under BJP’s protection,” he asserted.
Appealing to the BJP government, Kuldeep Kumar said, “Give the mothers and sisters of Delhi a safe environment. Lieutenant Governor and BJP’s four-engine government, wake up from your sleep, because Delhi is not topping in education or health, but in crime. Amit Shah must pay attention to Delhi and deploy the police to protect the public instead of his own security.”
