Delhi CM Rekha Gupta’s admission in a media interview about vote theft triggered a sharp attack from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Taking a jibe on social media platform X, he wrote, “What is Delhi Chief Minister saying?”
During a television interview, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “For 70 years Congress was hacking electronic voting machines (EVMs) and nothing happened, but when BJP did it, suddenly it became an issue?” Her statement created a political uproar in Delhi and fuelled debates that BJP captured power in the capital through vote theft.
AAP National Media In-charge Anurag Dhanda also shared the interview clip on X and stated, “Congress BJP brother in crime. They hack EVM, eat the cream.”
Anurag Dhanda stated, “Aam Aadmi Party has always maintained that there is no difference between Congress and BJP. Both parties are murderers of Indian democracy. To grab power, both have misused constitutional institutions and violated the rights of the people. Congress too misused central investigative agencies to come to power, and now BJP is doing the same. Today, BJP is also filing fake cases against opposition leaders, harassing them and suppressing the voice of the people.”
Referring to Delhi CM Rekha Gupta’s remark on electronic voting machines (EVMs), Anurag Dhanda added, “She said that for 70 years, Congress was hacking EVMs and nothing was happening, but when BJP did it, suddenly it became an issue. Rekha Gupta’s statement shows that votes were openly stolen in Delhi, and only because of that BJP managed to form a government here.”
“AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and several other leaders repeatedly raised the issue of vote theft and complained to the Election Commission, but no action was taken. In Arvind Kejriwal’s New Delhi Assembly constituency, an application was filed to delete more than 6,000 votes under fake names, and then Chief Minister Atishi lodged a complaint with the Election Commission with evidence, but still no action was taken,” he revealed.
On the conduct during the Delhi elections, Anurag Dhanda said, “The whole country saw how BJP workers distributed sarees, shoes, gold chains and money. Aam Aadmi Party even submitted proof of this, but still the Election Commission did nothing. What is even more surprising is that Congress remained completely silent on these issues. Congress never opposed BJP candidates who were violating the Model Code of Conduct.”
He asserted that only the Aam Aadmi Party kept speaking out. Congress knew it was going to end up with zero seats again. It was contesting elections only to defeat us. We have time and again exposed how Congress was helping BJP win.
Anurag Dhanda emphasised, “It is now clear that BJP formed a government in Delhi by stealing votes. Earlier, Congress used to do this, and now BJP is doing the same. That is why people of this country should not trust either of these parties on anything. Only the Aam Aadmi Party is the one party that works for the people. We proved it in Delhi, and now we are proving it in Punjab as well.”
