The BJP’s much-hyped “four-engine government” in Delhi is collapsing under its own claims, with sewage overflowing across streets and lanes, leaving commuters stranded and residents choking on the stench. Visiting an overflowing drain in Rajinder Nagar, AAP’s Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the MCD, Ankush Narang, slammed the BJP for its failure, warning that the untreated sewage is not only causing daily hardship but also heightening the risk of diseases. He urged CM Rekha Gupta, Water Minister Parvesh Verma, and area MLA Umang Bajaj to act immediately and resolve the crisis.
MCD LoP Ankush Narang on Thursday inspected Rajinder Nagar Assembly. During the visit, he pointed to a PWD road where sewage water was overflowing and said that ever since the BJP’s so-called “four-engine government” came to power, sewage can be seen spilling on every street, every lane, and even on PWD roads across Delhi. He noted that not only are pedestrians and commuters suffering because of this, but a large pothole has also formed on the road, posing a major risk of accidents. At the Gol Chakkar area, sewage water flows every day, leaving local residents extremely troubled. The dirty water spreads across the entire locality.
Ankush Narang said that CM Rekha Gupta’s BJP government is completely useless. “They boast of having a four-engine government, but all they have done is flood Delhi with sewage water. The BJP government should be ashamed. Sewage is flowing openly on streets and in lanes, leaving the entire area polluted. I call upon Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Water Minister Parvesh Verma, and the local BJP MLA Umang Bajaj to get this sewage line repaired immediately, otherwise it will lead to the spread of diseases,” he said.
He further pointed out that residents themselves are saying that ever since the BJP government came to power, this sewage has been continuously overflowing. “The people of Delhi gave the BJP 48 Assembly seats, all seven MPs, and power in the MCD with great expectations. Now what is the problem? Why is this sewage not being fixed? This must be repaired immediately,” Ankush Narang demanded.
