Delhi today stands buried under mountains of garbage as a result of BJP’s so-called ‘four-engine’ government. From Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to Centre, every lever of power is with the BJP, yet the national capital has been turned into a dumping ground. And instead of cleaning the city, the BJP is busy staging the drama of ‘Seva Pakhwada’ on the Prime Minister’s birthday.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has started a campaign against the piles of garbage spread across Delhi. This campaign, led by AAP Delhi unit president Saurabh Bharadwaj, is called ‘Kaam Kabaada, Kaisa Seva Pakhwada.’ Under this campaign, AAP councillors will post daily videos of garbage from different parts of Delhi on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, exposing the failures of the BJP’s so-called ‘four-engine’ government.
AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “The BJP is pretending to run a Seva Pakhwada because 17th September is the Prime Minister’s birthday. We want to tell them: first do your work, then put up a drama of ‘seva’. I also appeal to the people of Delhi to make videos of garbage in their areas and share them on social media.”
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the MCD House, Ankush Narang shared photos and videos of garbage piled up in different areas. On X, he posted photos from Ward 11 Timarpur in the Civil Lines Zone and exposed the lies of BJP’s CM Rekha Gupta and Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh. He said, “Their so-called campaign of ‘Delhi ko kude se aazadi’ turned out to be a big lie. The reality is that the streets of Delhi are still full of garbage.”
He added, “The BJP is again pretending with Seva Pakhwada on 17th September, the Prime Minister’s birthday. But we want to say — first do your work, then talk about ‘seva’.” Sharing photos from Ward 7, he said that the BJP’s four-engine garbage government has turned Delhi into a garbage city. The moment they came to power, garbage spread everywhere across Delhi’s lanes and streets.
Through this campaign, AAP councillors are continuously exposing BJP’s failures. Trilokpuri Councillor Vijay shared a video of accumulated garbage and said, “Today Delhi is ruled by the so-called four-engine garbage government that has turned the whole city into garbage. The BJP had promised to free Delhi from garbage, but instead they have given freedom to garbage itself.”
He added, “Everywhere you look, there is garbage. The Delhi Government, MCD, Centre and the Lieutenant Governor — all are under BJP, yet garbage is spread everywhere. The BJP has filled the city with garbage. Delhiites should give them a big thank you for giving us such a fine garbage government.”
Similarly, the AAP councillor shared a video of the heaps of garbage on Pankha Road in Janakpuri, exposing the failures of the BJP’s so-called cleanliness drive. The councillor said, “Delhi’s four-engine government has turned the city into a dustbin, and now it is staging a drama of Seva Pakhwada. The BJP has not even spared Delhi’s posh Janakpuri area and the Assembly constituency of BJP’s own Education Minister Ashish Sood. Here, heaps of garbage are spread across several metres. Instead of cleaning them, the shameless BJP government is busy staging a drama of Seva Pakhwada just to please PM Narendra Modi.”
