AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday lauded the party’s Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, Ashok Mittal, for announcing jobs to one member of every family that lost a loved one in the devastating floods. The AAP Chief declared the gesture a touching act of humanity that restores courage to grieving households.
Taking to social media platform X, AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal wrote: “Dr. Ashok Mittal’s step is deeply moving. The entire Punjab salutes his spirit. In this hour of crisis, giving employment to a bereaved family is like restoring their shattered courage.”
Arvind Kejriwal further said that the soil of Punjab has always taught us that no matter how big the calamity, it can be faced with courage, brotherhood, and by holding each other’s hands. “That spirit is alive in every heart even today. I am confident that with this collective strength and humanity, Punjab will not only recover from this tragedy but will rise stronger than ever before,” he added.
It is noteworthy that on Friday, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal announced permanent jobs at Lovely Professional University (LPU) for one member each of the 43 families who lost their loved ones in the floods. He said, “Along with being a Member of Parliament, I am also the Chancellor of Lovely Professional University. Therefore, I made this announcement at my personal level after careful thought.”
During this announcement, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal expressed deep condolences to the affected families and paid tribute to the deceased.
