The national capital is in the grip of fear as bomb threats to schools continue for the third consecutive day — a grim pattern that now spans educational institutions in Dwarka, Vasant Kunj, Hauz Khas, Paschim Vihar, and Lodhi Estate. In a scathing condemnation, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has sought accountability from the BJP-led governments at the Centre and in Delhi.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal slammed the BJP on social media platform X, stating: “For the third day in a row, bomb threats have been issued to Delhi schools. Neither Union Home Minister Amit Shah nor the BJP’s four-engine governments seem to care about the safety of Delhi’s children. The BJP is hell-bent on turning Delhi into a jungle-raj.”
AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj said that threatening emails about bombs being planted in private schools have become a frightening routine. “Every morning, parents drop their children at school and head to work. But as soon as they reach the office, panic calls from the school begin, asking them to immediately take their children back home. Parents are forced to leave their offices and rush to the school. Every parent has to go in person to collect their child because school buses only drop children in the afternoon, around 2 PM—they don’t make an additional trip before that. For the past year, thousands of parents and children have been trapped in this cycle.”
He added, “The central government claims India is now a ‘Vishwaguru’, that our voice echoes across the world. But can a government really absolve itself by simply stating that threatening emails and calls are coming from Russia? If that’s the case, then what is stopping the Government of India from taking it up diplomatically? Is the Centre so powerless? This is the same BJP that once boasted it would bring back black money from Swiss banks. And now it can’t even catch a single criminal who, from abroad, sends panic-inducing emails to schools almost every day. It’s disgraceful that in a country with such advanced technology, the government stands helpless.”
On social media platform X, Saurabh Bharadwaj added, “On Wednesday too, private schools in Delhi received bomb threats. Parents were asked to rush back and pick up their children. Chaos and panic broke out everywhere. Is this what governance and administration look like under the BJP?”
Senior AAP leader and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia also expressed deep concern over the matter, stating on X: “Almost every month, schools in Delhi receive bomb threats. Parents and children live in constant fear. Such threats throw lakhs of families into trauma and anxiety. The real tragedy is that despite these regular threats, not one culprit has been caught, and the government has offered no answers. Has the entire intelligence apparatus collapsed? Are all intelligence agencies only being used to spy on Opposition leaders and file false cases against them? I urge BJP leaders to stop misusing agencies against the Opposition and instead focus on finding out who is behind these bomb threats to our children’s schools.”
Retweeting AAP leader Vinay Mishra’s post, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Atishi wrote on X: “This is the very fear and anxiety that lakhs of Delhi parents go through every single day. Despite their four-engine governments and massive systems, the BJP cannot even identify who is behind these threats and why. The BJP has left the safety of Delhi’s people and children to the mercy of God.”
AAP leader Vinay Mishra, sharing his personal experience, posted: “Today, as a father, I personally experienced the pain and fear that lakhs of Delhiites are subjected to time and again. When I went to drop my daughter to school this morning, there was chaos. The school administration asked parents to take their children back because multiple schools in Delhi had received bomb threats. Is this some kind of joke? Repeated threats are issued, and till date, no one knows who is behind them or what the truth is.”
“The national capital has become utterly unsafe. I appeal to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take some time off from election rallies and ensure the safety of Delhi’s schools and its citizens. Lakhs of innocent children study here, and each time such news breaks, their parents are left terrified and helpless,” his post concluded.
