A four-storey building collapsed in northeast Delhi on Saturday morning, killing and injuring several residents in a horrific incident that has once again exposed the failure of basic civic enforcement. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) called the tragedy deeply unfortunate, with AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Delhi Assembly, Atishi, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The AAP Chief immediately directed local party workers to rush to the site and assist in rescue efforts. Within hours, AAP volunteers were on the ground supporting administrative teams.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “The incident of a four-storey building collapse in North-East Delhi is extremely tragic. I express my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident. Due to the narrow lanes, there are challenges in conducting relief and rescue operations. I appeal to all our local party colleagues to go to the spot and extend every possible assistance to the administration in the relief efforts.”
Meanwhile, senior AAP leader and Delhi Assembly LoP Atishi wrote, “The incident of a four-storey building collapse in the Welcome area of North-East Delhi on Saturday morning is extremely tragic. I extend my deepest condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in this accident. Since the building was located in a very narrow alley, there are major difficulties in carrying out relief and rescue operations. I urge all local party workers to extend all possible help to the administration and assist in the relief efforts.”
MCD LoP Ankush Narang, also posted on X while sharing a video from the incident site, stating, “A tragic incident has taken place in Delhi’s Seelampur. A four-storey building has collapsed.
