In a blistering attack on the Delhi BJP government’s silence over private school exploitation, senior AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, along with Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Delhi Assembly. Atishi, charged the BJP government with surrendering to the private education mafia. Manish Sisodia said that in just three months, the BJP has pushed lakhs of Delhi’s parents to the brink, making them “weep blood” under the burden of arbitrary school fees.
“The same private education mafia that was restrained under Arvind Kejriwal’s government has returned like a pack of ravenous wolves under BJP’s rule, preying on helpless parents,” Manish Sisodia said. He warned that the BJP is bringing in laws in secrecy, without informing the public, on critical issues like children’s education and fees. Atishi echoed the outrage, notung that under BJP rule, private schools in Delhi are no longer temples of learning, but dens of extortion.
In a series of statements on X, senior AAP leader and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia criticised the BJP government’s ordinance on school fees, calling it a sham that keeps parents in the dark and empowers private school profiteers. “On the serious issue of children’s education and school fees, the BJP government in Delhi is introducing a law while keeping parents completely uninformed. In just three months, the BJP has made parents of lakhs of children studying in private schools cry tears of blood. For ten years, we kept the private school mafia under tight control. The BJP came in and handed them a free pass. Today, that same mafia is attacking parents like hungry wolves,” Manish Sisodia wrote.
He further added, “Now that there’s public outrage, the BJP government is bringing in a law just for show. But even in this bill, the real power will remain with the education mafia, and the government will wash its hands of all responsibility.”
Highlighting the growing insensitivity under BJP’s rule, Manish Sisodia revealed a shocking incident where young children were detained in school after hours. “In Delhi, tiny, innocent children were punished by being kept back in school after classes, just because their parents chose to drop them off themselves instead of paying for overpriced school vans. Under BJP rule, private schools in Delhi are no longer temples of education — they’re turning into dens of exploitation. By threatening children and intimidating parents, what revolution is the BJP trying to bring? There’s no sign of shame, decency or humanity left in this BJP government,” he wrote.
Manish Sisodia also exposed the deterioration of healthcare and governance in Delhi under the BJP..“In just three months, the BJP has ruined Delhi’s hospitals. The Chief Minister and her ministers are busy abusing Arvind Kejriwal from morning to night. Officers are being tasked with combing through files from the Kejriwal government era just to find a misplaced full stop or comma to trigger ED-CBI raids. In three months, the BJP has made Delhiites weep. Hospitals are in shambles, government schools are neglected, private schools are terrorising families, electricity prices have been hiked, and power cuts are increasing. BJP workers, talk to your leaders — the people of Delhi elected them to work, not to hurl abuse at Kejriwal all day.”
Meanwhile, AAP senior leader and Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, echoed Manish Sisodia’s concerns and questioned the BJP’s motives behind the controversial ordinance. “Parents of children in private schools have opposed the BJP’s fee ordinance. Everyone wants to know: what is in this law that the BJP is hiding? CM Rekha Gupta ji, is this law being made to protect private schools? Parents are repeatedly raising their voices, but the BJP government has taken no action against a single private school. It’s clear that the BJP’s Delhi government wants to shield private schools,” Atishi said in a post on X.
Referring to a disturbing incident, she added: “One private school, in its greed for money, is locking children inside classrooms. Where is Delhi CM Rekha Gupta and Education Minister Ashish Sood? Will you take any action against this school?”
