The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in Delhi riding on tall promises, but a hundred days into its rule, it has delivered little more than disappointment. In a scathing critique, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s senior leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, declared the BJP’s tenure an unmitigated failure across every critical front—power, water, education, and drainage.
Sharing an image titled ‘100 Days: Report Card Fail’ on X, Atishi charged that the Rekha Gupta-led government has let down the people of Delhi at every step. “The BJP’s 100-day mark is around the corner, and it is clear they have failed spectacularly on all counts,” she said, announcing that AAP will release a detailed report card this Friday exposing the BJP’s non-performance.
AAP’s National Media In-Charge Anurag Dhanda has also shared the same photograph on X, stating: “The AAP will present a detailed report of the BJP government’s 100-day performance in Delhi before the public on Friday.” Appealing to the people of Delhi, he said they can send in their suggestions to be included in the report card.
According to the Aam Aadmi Party, the first 100 days of BJP rule in Delhi have brought nothing but suffering for the people. Delhiites have been subjected to long and frequent power cuts—an issue that is persisting even as the city braces for a severe heatwave. In contrast, when AAP was in power, Delhi enjoyed 24×7 electricity at the most affordable rates. But since BJP took charge, power tariffs have been hiked.
The AAP pointed out that its government had successfully dismantled the education mafia, but private schools under the BJP regime have increased fees arbitrarily by 30 to 80 percent. “They never dared to raise fees under the AAP government,” the party said.
The party further stated that the water crisis has worsened under the BJP government. Several areas are receiving either no water or highly contaminated water. Instead of resolving the issue, the BJP has enabled the tanker mafia to thrive. Delhi’s air quality has also deteriorated dramatically under BJP’s watch. The AQI crossed 500 on multiple occasions—something that never happened during previous summers, AAP noted.
The Aam Aadmi Party also highlighted the BJP’s broken promises. During the elections, the BJP had promised to transfer ₹2,500 per month to every woman in Delhi and to pass this scheme in the first cabinet meeting. “But women are still waiting for the money to be credited into their accounts,” the party said.
Similarly, the BJP had promised free LPG cylinders on Holi and subsidised cylinders at ₹500 thereafter. Yet, after forming the government, it conveniently forgot these assurances. Delhiites neither received free cylinders during Holi, nor can they get them at the promised ₹500 rate. AAP said, “The only thing the BJP has delivered in its first 100 days in Delhi is hardship and distress for the people.”
