India has decided to send all-party delegations abroad to build global support against Pakistan-backed terrorism. Welcoming the move, Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj said it stands in contrast to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s many foreign visits, which, he noted, failed to secure strong international condemnation of Pakistan after the recent India Pakistan faceoff following the Pahalgam terror attack.
During a media interaction, AAP’s Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwad stated, “It’s a great decision. PM Narendra Modi used to travel abroad, ostensibly to strengthen foreign policy. And I believe he undertook more than 80 foreign trips.”
However, Saurabh Bharadwaj pointed out that the kind of diplomatic advantage that was expected from those visits did not materialize. “For instance, when we had a faceoff with Pakistan, no major global power stood firmly with India—none named Pakistan explicitly or condemned it or held it accountable,” he highlighted.
He concluded by stating, “So, in that context, I think this is a good initiative. The government seems to have realized that sending Members of Parliament from different political parties abroad might help bolster India’s foreign policy efforts.”
