The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has pointed out that the BJP’s four-engine government in Delhi is colluding with private schools to enable arbitrary fee hikes. Citing the case of Delhi Public School, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj raised six damning questions—including the absence of an FIR despite the DM’s report, missing audit findings, and the government’s refusal to halt fee increases—calling it a deliberate betrayal of parents to protect profiteering institutions.
In a statement, the Aam Aadmi Party has stated, “The BJP is lying through its teeth. They’re accusing us of mismanagement, but the facts are crystal clear—school fees were never hiked during our tenure. It’s only under their rule that fees are rising.”
The statement further read, “Under our government, the CAG audited private schools. Corruption was exposed. Looted money was returned to parents. This entire fee hike crisis began the day the BJP came to power in Delhi.”
“And let’s be clear—since day one, they had the power to issue an order halting all fee hikes until audits were completed. But they deliberately chose not to act. Why? Because they are protecting their own. The President of the unaided private schools association, Bharat Arora, is a member of the BJP’s Delhi Executive. This is a textbook case of collusion,” stated the AAP.
Meanwhile, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “BJP’s collusion with private schools is directly responsible for the arbitrary fee hikes that are burdening lakhs of parents in Delhi. Despite a damning DM report, why has the BJP government not filed an FIR against DPS? Why are parents being forced to knock on the doors of the High Court once again? Why is the BJP so hesitant to take over DPS and bring it under regulation? Where is the audit report of DPS? What are the findings of the audit of over 1,600 private schools that the BJP claims to have conducted? And has the BJP-led Delhi government ordered even a single rollback of these illegal fee hikes? The answers to these questions expose a deep-rooted nexus between the BJP and profiteering private schools.”
