The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) demonstrated at ITO on Thursday, forming a human banner to remind PM Narendra Modi and the BJP of their unfulfilled promise to provide free LPG cylinders to Delhi’s women on Holi. Led by senior AAP leader and Kondli MLA Kuldeep Kumar, AAP karyakartas formed banners reading, “Holi aa gayi, free cylinder kab aayega?” and raised slogans like “Free ka cylinder kab aayega?” and “Modi ji ki guarantee jumla hai.” They demanded that the BJP fulfil its electoral promises.
Meanwhile, Delhi’s former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Atishi took to X, questioning the BJP: “Delhi’s people are asking: Holi is here, when will the free cylinder arrive?”
During the demonstration at ITO, Senior AAP leader and MLA Kuldeep Kumar slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, and the BJP for failing to deliver on their promise of free LPG cylinders for Delhi’s women on Holi. “Today is Chhoti Holi. Holi has arrived, but the cylinders haven’t. The women of Delhi were waiting for the free cylinders promised to them, but once again, PM Modi’s guarantee turned out to be just another jumla,” he said.
Kuldeep Kumar further criticised the BJP, stating that their promise of giving ₹2,500 to Delhi’s women was also a lie. “Now, the commitment to providing free cylinders has also proven to be false. Through this human banner demonstration at ITO, AAP is reminding the BJP that Holi has arrived. There is still time—fulfil your promise and give women their free cylinders,” he said.
Calling the BJP a “jumla party,” Kuldeep Kumar said, “PM Modi’s guarantees are nothing but jumlas. Delhi’s women have neither received free cylinders nor the ₹2,500 that was promised to them. The AAP demands that the BJP fulfil its commitment by providing free cylinders. During the elections, PM Modi assured Delhi’s women that they would receive free cylinders on Holi. The sacred festival of Holi is here, but the promised cylinders have not reached our mothers and sisters.”
He further stated that AAP would continue to hold the BJP accountable until they deliver on their promises. “Until PM Modi’s guarantee becomes a reality, and Delhi’s women receive their free cylinders and ₹2,500, AAP will continue its protests. Our fight for the rights of Delhi’s people will not stop,” asserted Kuldeep Kumar.
