The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has intensified its attack on the BJP, demanding that the promised ₹2,500 per month be transferred to the women of Delhi by March 8—International Women’s Day—as guaranteed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Senior AAP leader Kuldeep Kumar pointed out that the BJP is betraying public trust by failing to implement the scheme in its first cabinet meeting and instead using the assembly session to target Arvind Kejriwal. Calling out Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, AAP has demanded a clear answer: Will the money be deposited, or will this, too, be another ‘jumla’?
MLA Kuldeep Kumar, while addressing a press conference at the party headquarters on Sunday, raised concerns over the BJP government’s failure to implement its election promise of providing ₹2,500 per month to women in Delhi. He reminded that during the Delhi Assembly elections, PM Narendra Modi had assured women that if the BJP formed the government, they would receive ₹2,500 every month as part of Modi’s Guarantee.
The AAP MLA pointed out that the PM had specifically stated that this scheme would be approved in the very first cabinet meeting of the BJP government. Trusting this guarantee, Delhi’s voters supported the BJP, leading to the formation of its government.
Expressing disappointment, Kuldeep Kumar noted that despite the first cabinet meeting already taking place, the BJP has not fulfilled this commitment. “Delhi’s newly elected CM Rekha Gupta has exposed PM Modi’s first guarantee as nothing more than a ‘jumla’ (hollow promise). AAP had hoped that if the cabinet failed to approve the scheme, at least the ongoing Assembly session would address the issue.”
“Women in Delhi were eagerly waiting for clarity on how the BJP planned to implement the ₹2,500 scheme—what the process would be, how funds would be transferred, and what systems would be put in place,” he said.
Kuldeep Kumar further criticized the BJP’s conduct in the Assembly, stating that instead of discussing real governance issues, the party is solely focused on attacking Arvind Kejriwal. “So far, every BJP minister, MLA, and even the Chief Minister has used the Assembly to hurl abuses at Arvind Kejriwal. After 27 years, Delhi has given BJP a chance, and they must now answer when and how ₹2,500 will be deposited into women’s accounts,” he added.
Recalling another “Guarantee” by PM Modi, Kuldeep Kumar reminded that the scheme was supposed to commence on International Women’s Day, March 8. “There are only six days left until March 8. Has the Delhi government collected bank details from beneficiaries? Has any form been distributed? Has any official notification been issued? If none of this has been done, how will women receive ₹2,500 in their accounts by March 8?” Asked the AAP MLA.
“Delhi’s mothers and sisters are waiting for an answer. Abusing Arvind Kejriwal won’t solve anything. BJP came to power by abusing him—now they should focus on governance and deliver on their promises,” he asserted.
Kuldeep Kumar directly challenged CM Rekha Gupta to clarify whether women in Delhi would receive ₹2,500 in their accounts on March 8. “Will Modi’s Guarantee turn out to be a ‘jumla’? AAP believes that Rekha Gupta is determined to prove Modi’s Guarantee as a mere political gimmick. We urge the CM to immediately ensure that women receive their rightful financial assistance.”
The AAP MLA affirmed that the BJP government cannot continue to engage in mere political rhetoric; they must act. Their only agenda seems to be abusing Arvind Kejriwal from morning to evening. Now that their ‘Gaali-Galoch Party’ is in power, they must fulfill their promises.
Highlighting growing public frustration, Kuldeep Kumar revealed that women have been visiting the AAP office, asking when they will receive their ₹2,500. “On Monday, we expect CM Rekha Gupta to explain in the Assembly how women will receive their money on March 8. The BJP must not reduce Modi’s Guarantee to a ‘jumla’ but must fulfill it,” he pointed out.
“The AAP remains committed to ensuring that the BJP delivers on its promises to the people of Delhi. If the BJP attempts to silence the opposition through unconstitutional means, they should remember that Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution ensures a crucial role for the opposition in democracy. We will raise this issue in the Assembly on Monday and continue to fight for the rights of Delhi’s people,” concluded Kuldeep Kumar.
