After senior AAP leader and former minister Satyendar Jain got bail from the court, the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) move to seek the President’s prosecution sanction for his arrest has sparked a furious backlash. AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh declared that Satyendar Jain’s imprisonment was baseless and exposed the ED’s real agenda—crippling the party and halting Delhi’s governance.
With AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, facing relentless action, Sanjay Singh pointed out that the agency is operating as a political weapon and demanded an apology from the Prime Minister and the ED.
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, “This proves that Satyendar Jain and Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest were completely illegal, driven by malice, and orchestrated by PM Modi’s government.”
The senior AAP leader stated that after keeping Satyendar Jain in jail for 23 months—nearly three years—they are now seeking sanction in his case. And this comes only after our lawyers objected in court, pointing out the illegality of his arrest. Nothing was recovered from his home, he was granted bail, yet the BJP government kept him behind bars for 23 months. Now, you seek sanction and approval from the President.
“The same pattern was followed in Arvind Kejriwal’s case. We have repeatedly said that these ED arrests were never about justice; they were meant solely to destroy the AAP,” said the AAP MP.
Sanjay Singh said, “For this, the Prime Minister must apologize—to the nation, to Satyendar Jain’s family, and to the people of Delhi. His government has obstructed Delhi’s governance. Arresting a minister without prior sanction, arresting a Chief Minister without prior sanction—this was completely unlawful. And now, even the Home Ministry and Modi government are being forced to acknowledge their blunder.”
