In a direct appeal, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has called on BJP supporters in Delhi to prioritize their family’s well-being over party loyalty. Warning that a BJP victory would mean the end of free electricity, water, healthcare, and women’s free bus travel, the AAP Chief argued that families would be burdened with ₹25,000 in extra expenses every month.
Citing BJP-ruled states as examples, he pointed out the absence of 24×7 free electricity and quality government schools, urging voters to look beyond politics and consider the real impact on their lives.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal released a video message on Saturday, addressing BJP supporters with an important appeal. He recounted an interaction with a staunch BJP supporter who asked him with a sly smile, “What will happen if you lose?” Arvind Kejriwal responded with a smile and countered, “Forget about me, tell me—what will happen to you if I lose?” The supporter was taken aback and asked what he meant.
The AAP Supremo then asked where the supporter’s children studied. The man replied that they attended a government school. Arvind Kejriwal followed up by asking about the quality of the schools now. The supporter admitted that the schools had improved significantly, teachers were better, and results had improved.
Arvind Kejriwal then asked how many states the BJP governed. The supporter responded, “20 states.” the AAP Chief asked, “In which BJP-ruled state are government schools as good as Delhi’s?” The supporter admitted, “Nowhere.” Arvind Kejriwal then asked, “So if I lose, what will happen to your children? Won’t Delhi’s government schools decline again?” The supporter agreed, saying, “That’s true.”
Arvind Kejriwal continued, asking, “Do you get 24×7 electricity in Delhi?” The supporter replied, “Yes.” the AAP Head then asked, “In which BJP-ruled state is there 24×7 electricity?” After thinking for a moment, the supporter admitted, “Nowhere.” Arvind Kejriwal further inquired, “How much is your electricity bill?” The supporter replied, “Zero.” the AAP Chief then asked, “In BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh, how much is the electricity bill?” The supporter admitted, “Thousands of rupees.” Arvind Kejriwal reiterated, “So if I lose, what will happen to you?”
Arvind Kejriwal explained that he told the BJP supporter, “If BJP comes to power, free and 24×7 electricity, free water, free healthcare, good schools, and free bus travel for women—all these benefits will be taken away. This will cost each family at least ₹25,000 per month. Do you have ₹25,000 to spare?” The supporter, who earned ₹1 lakh per month, admitted, “Even with my salary, it’s hard to manage. How will I afford an extra ₹25,000?”
Arvind Kejriwal advised him, “Forget BJP for a moment, forget politics—think about yourself and your family. If Kejriwal loses, what will happen to you?” The supporter was convinced and said, “I will vote for AAP in this election, but I won’t leave BJP.” Arvind Kejriwal smiled and replied, “As you wish.”
Addressing all BJP supporters, Arvind Kejriwal appealed, “If BJP comes to power, all the benefits you receive from the AAP government will be gone. Every family will lose around ₹25,000 per month. Can you afford that? Are you ready to bear this extra burden? You can’t. That’s why, as your brother, I advise you—vote for the ‘broom’ (AAP’s symbol). You don’t have to leave BJP, but vote for AAP in this election for your own and your family’s well-being. And remember, if you ever need personal help, your brother will always be there for you.”
