Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann held a series of mega roadshows and jansabha on Friday, urging votes for AAP candidates Kuldeep Kumar (Kondli), Sarita Singh (Rohtas Nagar), Surendra Kumar (Gokalpuri), and Gopal Rai (Babarpur). The Punjab CM asserted Delhi will once again choose AAP, which spends public money on the people, unlike the BJP, which hands it to billionaire friends.
He slammed the BJP for openly distributing cash, shoes, sarees, and gold chains while the Election Commission ignored them and instead raided his house. Delhi’s people know AAP doesn’t buy votes with money—it wins hearts with trust and service.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said that the people of Delhi have two choices in this election. “On one side, there are those who believe in fights, while on the other, there are those who believe in education. One side snatches from the public to benefit their friends, while the other puts something back into the people’s pockets. One side indulges in abuse, while the other worries about hospitals, treatment, and your children’s future.”
Calling out BJP’s election tactics, Bhagwant Mann said, “These BJP leaders have stooped to a new low. They are openly distributing jackets, shoes, sarees, and chains. They think the people of Delhi can be bought. People themselves are sending us videos, showing how shoes and money are being distributed.”
He added that we have sent several such videos to the Election Commission, but no action has been taken. “Instead, the Election Commission is raiding my house. On Thursday, they came to my house, but I was out campaigning. No one was home. I told them to go inside, and if they found anything, they should give it to me too.”
Referring to the raid, Bhagwant Mann said, “A magistrate went inside with a camera. They claimed that someone had complained on their portal that money was being distributed at the Punjab Chief Minister’s residence in Kapurthala House. But we are not people who win with money—we win with love. We only distribute love. The Election Commission should at least tell us what they found in my house. Within a 500-metre radius of the Election Commission’s office, there are houses of several BJP leaders, yet they do not have the courage to raid a single one of them.”
The Punjab CM called out the BJP on polluting the Yamuna in Delhi. “These people are contaminating the Yamuna’s water, and when Arvind Kejriwal took this complaint to the Election Commission, instead of taking action against the culprits, they issued a notice to Arvind Kejriwal, threatening action against him.”
He asserted that AAP fights for people’s rights, and that is why the people of Delhi love us. “On 5 February, press the ‘Jhadu’ button and ensure another AAP government in Delhi.”
Talking about Amit Shah’s roadshow, Bhagwant Mann said, “On Thursday, Home Minister Amit Shah held a roadshow somewhere in Delhi, but he couldn’t find any supporters there. So, they brought people from Mangolpuri, paying them Rs. 400 each for the day. Several videos have surfaced where people can be seen holding BJP flags while openly saying they were given Rs. 400 but would still vote for Arvind Kejriwal. Where is this money coming from? Why doesn’t the Election Commission see this? They have stationed cameras outside our homes, but when BJP leaders openly tweet about distributing money, the EC turns a blind eye. This cannot go on. The people know who is honest and who is lying.”
Speaking about the upcoming elections, the Punjab CM said, “We don’t know when ‘achhe din’ will come, but one thing is certain—on 8 February, when the results are out, Delhi will see ‘sachhe din’ for the fourth time with Arvind Kejriwal. Vote for the one who understands your struggles. These people have a lot of money—they might even come to your house. They are arrogant enough to think they can buy people with cash. When they come, don’t refuse. Lakshmi is never turned away—this is the people’s own money. And on 5 February, press the ‘Jhadu’ button and show them the power of the people.”
Reacting to PM Modi’s “ATM” remark, Bhagwant Mann said, “Only he can talk about ATMs and money because all his friends have become billionaires. Their loans have been waived off, while the common people are ignored. The public is only kept for ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ while his friends are reserved for ‘Dhan Ki Baat.’ His entire nature revolves around ATMs and money.”
On the raid at his residence, Bhagwant Mann said, “This is nothing but frustration. The Election Commission should tell people what they found at my house. These people make baseless claims and go wherever they please. BJP’s candidate Parvesh Verma openly tweets about distributing money at a particular location, yet the Election Commission turns a blind eye. It is clear that they are working as BJP’s agents.”
Addressing the issue of ammonia levels in Delhi’s water, Bhagwant Mann said, “Today, the ammonia level in the water is 2.1. On 26-27 January, it had reached above 7, which no treatment plant can purify. But when we raised our voice and the matter gained attention, the ammonia levels suddenly dropped. Since December, the levels had been rising, but the moment we protested, they started falling—proving that it was in their control all along.”
Highlighting AAP’s governance model, Bhagwant Mann said, “We learned from Delhi and built excellent schools and Mohalla Clinics. Today, 90% of households in Punjab receive free electricity. Usually, governments run public institutions into losses and sell them to their friends. But in Punjab, AAP’s government purchased a running 540 MW thermal power plant from a private company in Sri Goindwal. This is what honest intent looks like. We didn’t come to politics to make money. Arvind Kejriwal was an Income Tax Commissioner, Manish Sisodia was a journalist, and I was a top comedian—we were already earning well. But we couldn’t stand by and watch the country being looted, so we stepped into politics. I have been travelling across Delhi—BJP has no agenda, Congress has no presence, and no one has a leader like Arvind Kejriwal, who knows how to get work done.”
