Under the leadership of AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, a leader dedicated to the people, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) continues to attract a large number of individuals inspired by the AAP’s Delhi government’s transformative initiatives in education, healthcare, electricity, water, roads, free bus travel for women, pensions for the elderly, and free pilgrimage schemes. On Saturday, several Congress leaders, along with hundreds of party workers, joined the AAP.
In the presence of Delhi Cabinet Minister Imran Hussain, several prominent leaders from the Congress Party in the Ballimaran Assembly constituency joined the AAP. Among them were Moniza Abid Qureshi (General Secretary, Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress), Haseenuddin Qureshi (popularly known as Chinu Chacha), Mohd. Abid (Former District President, Chandni Chowk), Mohd. Ashraf, Salim, Sam, Ayan, Fazil Sabir Qureshi, Ali Qureshi, Harman Qureshi, Zaheeruddin, Mohd. Wali Abid Qureshi, Saman Sartaj Qureshi, Yash Khangwal (Former State General Secretary, DPYC), Nitin Indoria, Karan Itkan, Iftikar, Aleem Ali, and Arun Indoria.
Minister Imran Hussain welcomed them into the party, presenting them with the signature Aam Aadmi Party caps and scarves, symbolizing their formal induction into the party.
During the event, the leaders who joined the Aam Aadmi Party expressed their admiration for Arvind Kejriwal’s historic contributions and the impactful policies of the AAP. They highlighted how Arvind Kejriwal, even while in jail, ensured that developmental projects in Delhi continued without interruption. Now, with Arvind Kejriwal actively engaging with the people of Delhi, the immense love and support he is receiving have left leaders of other opposition parties unsettled and frustrated.
Welcoming the leaders into the Aam Aadmi Party, Delhi Minister Imran Hussain, stated, “The developmental work being carried out by the Kejriwal government has motivated workers from other parties to join the AAP in large numbers.”
Ballimaran MLA Imran Hussain further emphasized that the addition of these dedicated workers would strengthen the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi and enhance the party’s organizational framework.
He remarked, “In this country, if there is any leader who can guarantee education and healthcare, it is Arvind Kejriwal. Under his leadership, the Delhi government has set new benchmarks in development over the past 8-10 years, which are now being discussed not only in India but also abroad.”
Minister Imran Hussain further stated, “The Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi has provided free electricity, clean water, healthcare, education, bus travel for women, and pilgrimage services for the elderly, making Arvind Kejriwal a leader who resides in the hearts of Delhiites.” He confidently asserted that defeating Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi is impossible, adding that only the Aam Aadmi Party knows how to deliver these essential services effectively.
Responding to opposition leaders who have criticized these welfare measures as “freebies,” Minister Imran Hussain remarked, “Yes, we are providing these so-called ‘freebies.’ If ensuring facilities for the people is called giving freebies, then under Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, Delhiites will continue to receive free electricity, free water, quality education in government schools, good healthcare in Mohalla Clinics and government hospitals, free bus travel for women, and free pilgrimage services for the elderly. No matter how much the opposition tries to create hurdles, these initiatives will continue without interruption.”
