As the chill of winter deepens its grip on the national capital, the political temperature simmers, Delhi’s popular Jat leader and two-time MLA from Nangloi Jat constituency Raghuvinder Shokeen, as approved by AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, has been inducted into CM Atishi’s cabinet.
This inclusion highlights Raghuvinder Shokeen’s deep roots in rural Delhi politics and his track record as a dedicated public servant. With a background in civil engineering and years of political experience, Raghuvinder Shokeen is expected to bring expertise and commitment to his new role, bolstering the AAP government’s outreach and governance.
Senior AAP leader and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia while announcing this development, in a joint press conference with AAP leader Raghuvinder Shokeen, said, “Delhi is getting a new cabinet minister. Arvind Kejriwal has decided that Raghuvinder Shokeen will be a minister in CM Atishi’s cabinet. We all know that Raghuvinder Shokeen is a popular leader from the Jat community and has done significant work in the field of education.”
The senior AAP leader further added, “As it is often said about the AAP, it is a party of educated people. Arvind Kejriwal himself is highly educated, and so is his team. Raghuvinder Shokeen has also been a Civil Engineer. He has served as an MLA twice from Nangloi Jat and before that, he was a councilor twice. He has contributed to various sectors under the Delhi government at different times and has been actively engaged in politics in rural Delhi.”
“I am confident that Raghuvinder Shokeen will serve the people of Delhi and will fulfill all the responsibilities assigned to him with utmost dedication. Additionally, he will emerge as the voice of rural Delhi, the area he represents,” asserted Manish Sisodia.
Meanwhile, expressing his gratitude to the party and Arvind Kejriwal, Raghuvinder Shokeen said, “I thank Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and the entire top leadership of the party for giving me this opportunity. The AAP has always worked by including every section of society, while the BJP has consistently worked against the Jat community, whether it was during the farmers’ protest, the issue of wrestlers, or the Haryana elections.”
“The BJP won the Haryana elections by making it ‘Jats versus others’ and worked to divide our community. Since the Hindu-Muslim divide does not work there, they divided Haryana through Jat-non-Jat politics. The opportunity given to me by Arvind Kejriwal will enable me to work towards the better development of Delhi, and I also thank the people of Nangloi on their behalf,” affirmed Raghuvinder Shokeen.
