AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal will take to the streets on a series of padyatras across all constituencies of Delhi in the coming weeks. The padyatras are being organised to have the people connect directly with the AAP Convenor, so he can take note of their concerns, and share his vision for Delhi’s future. Arvind Kejriwal’s Padyatras have already seen immense public response, with crowds turning out in large numbers to express their support in the first phase.
Announcing the same, Senior AAP Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh informed that Arvind Kejriwal will begin with a Padyatra in Rajouri Garden on Sunday itself. He added that the overwhelming love and support Arvind Kejriwal is receiving highlights the people’s belief that he is the only leader who has brought real change to Delhi over the past decade.
During a press conference, Sanjay Singh highlighted the first phase padyatras in Delhi. He noted, “In the first phase of the padyatra, Arvind Kejriwal received blessings, cooperation, and love from the public. Wherever he went, people expressed their affection, acknowledging that he is the only person who has shown change in Delhi over the past ten years in sectors like education, health, electricity, and water, and in providing free bus travel for mothers and sisters.”
Sanjay Singh further stated, “BJP tried to disrupt Arvind Kejriwal’s padyatra due to the support he was receiving. They tried to stop his padyatra and even attacked him while breaking through security. This shameful attack was supported by prominent BJP leaders through videos. Since they cannot win elections against Arvind Kejriwal’s politics of work, they resort to violence in an attempt to hinder his padyatra.”
Sanjay Singh said that unfettered by the conspiracies & disruptions, Arvind Kejriwal will continue his padyatra, starting the second phase at Rajouri Garden today. He added, “These padyatras will continue throughout November and December in various constituencies. The aim is to reach every person and inform them about how the BJP is obstructing Delhi’s progress through conspiracies, and to highlight the work that Arvind Kejriwal has done for the people of Delhi over the past ten years.”
Sanjay Singh stated that they want the BJP to engage in an open debate. He challenged them to name one of the 22 states where they govern that provides free electricity, offers free bus travel for women, or has schools with world-class facilities such as air-conditioned classrooms and athletic grounds. He added, “Arvind Kejriwal has transformed the education system in Delhi, creating schools that are exemplary.”
Sanjay Singh continued, stating, “When the BJP could not compete with Arvind Kejriwal’s governance, they resorted to imprisoning our leaders.” He exclaimed how the BJP has arrested Arvind Kejriwal, Satyendar Jain, and himself, attempting to halt the welfare projects that benefit three crore people in Delhi.
He said that now BJP leaders are hindering the construction of ghats for Chhath Puja, while Arvind Kejriwal has significantly increased the number of ghats for the festival. He asked, “Who will convey this to the people?” and emphasised that it will be done by Arvind Kejriwal and the workers of the Aam Aadmi Party through this padyatra.
He urged everyone to join in large numbers, stating, “We will not allow any harm to Delhi or Arvind Kejriwal’s initiatives.” He continued, “Remember, if the BJP comes to power, they will stop all these welfare schemes because, in 22 states, they do not provide free electricity, free water, free education, or free medical care.”
Sanjay Singh concluded by saying, “The BJP operates on the basis of attacks and empty promises, while we focus on genuine governance and public welfare. So, stay alert against the BJP’s strategies. This padyatra will convey information to all, and I appeal to you to participate actively.”
