The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched its Jansampark Abhiyan at a large scale. On Monday, senior party leaders including Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, Cabinet Ministers Saurabh Bhardwaj, Imran Hussain, and Mukesh Ahlawat, led Padyatras in Laxmi Nagar, Delhi Cantt, Seelampur, and Deoli. They received tremendous support and love from the people, who welcomed them with garlands. During the march, all leaders distributed the letter from AAP National Convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, urging the people of Delhi to ensure AAP’s victory by winning all 70 seats in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
During the padyatra, Sanjay Singh passionately conveyed Arvind Kejriwal’s vision for Delhi. He emphasised the party’s commitment to public welfare. Speaking to a crowd, Sanjay Singh said, “Through the padyatra, we are reaching the public, conveying Arvind Kejriwal’s message to the people. Our message is very clear—on one side, there is Arvind Kejriwal, who gave the people of Delhi free electricity, free water, free education, free healthcare, free bus rides, and schemes for the elderly, all while presenting a surplus budget.
He sharply contrasted these achievements with the actions of the BJP, saying, “On the other side, BJP members have worked to stop all of these initiatives. It is your responsibility, the responsibility of the people of Delhi, to recognize that your sons—Satyendar Jain, Manish Sisodia, and I—were imprisoned by them.”
He continued, “But I want to tell you all that we are committed to continuing to serve the people of Delhi, and no one can make us bow down.” He urged the public not to let the BJP gain any ground, and said, “The work for the people of Delhi will not stop, and neither will Arvind Kejriwal’s work. Last time, you gave AAP 62 seats. This time, there shouldn’t be any gap in those 8 remaining seats. If by mistake BJP wins, they will stop all the free services.”
Saurabh Bharadwaj made strong allegations against the central government for deliberately targeting Delhi’s leaders to obstruct the progress of welfare schemes in Delhi. He said, “Our leaders were sent to jail one by one. Manish Sisodia was kept in jail for a year. Our education minister was kept in jail for 18 months so that the children of the poor, who are studying in good schools and getting a good education, could be stopped. Their work could be halted, and the education of children could be disrupted.”
He highlighted that Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, was kept in jail for six months on false charges. He highlighted that despite the prolonged incarceration of leaders such as Delhi’s education minister and even Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Supreme Court had acknowledged the lack of evidence, granting bail to those implicated. He said, “It was the central government’s conspiracy to drag these cases on for years and block Delhi’s development work.”
He continued, “Each of our leaders got bail because there was no evidence. Our leaders were kept in jail on false charges to stop free medicines in hospitals, to halt the Mohalla Clinic, and to block the work on water and electricity.”
Saurabh Bharadwaj highlighted how the central government’s strategy was to prolong the cases, delay justice, and hinder development work in the national capital, all while avoiding the tough questions on governance that were now being raised. He continued, “Now the question is, why does BJP want this? They have governments in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. BJP is questioned everywhere. When Arvind Kejriwal can provide free electricity, good schools, and free medicines in Delhi, why can’t BJP do the same in UP? This question is asked to BJP in 22 states.”
On the other hand, Imran Hussain’s padyatra went through Seelampur assembly constituency on Monday. During this, Imran Hussain met the local people. Also, he handed over a letter from former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to the people. In the letter, Arvind Kejriwal has exposed the conspiracies of BJP against the people of Delhi. During this, MLA Abdul Rehman was also present with Imran Hussain. The people welcomed both with flowers and garlands and gleefully accepted the letter of Arvind Kejriwal.
