Delhi Civil Defence Volunteers are facing BJP’s wrath. In a shocking display of abuse, Delhi Civil Defence Volunteers found themselves not only betrayed by the BJP over their job reinstatement but brutally assaulted by its MLA and police.
On Saturday, a woman bus marshal pleading for her job’s restoration was kicked and chased away by BJP MLA Vijender Gupta. Another bus marshal was slapped by a Delhi Police officer. Their only crime? Demanding regularization of their jobs. Both the bus marshals complained about this to Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj and after his intervention, the police assured action.
On Saturday, BJP MLAs met CM Atishi on the issue of bus marshals. During this, a large number of bus marshals also reached. When the proposal to regularize bus marshals was passed in the cabinet by the AAP government, the BJP MLAs, seeing themselves trapped in their own trick, started running away. On this, the bus marshals were demanding reinstatement from the BJP MLAs.
During this, a female bus marshal started crying and fell at the feet of BJP MLA Vijendra Gupta, demanding to get her job back. But instead of treating her with humanity, the BJP MLA used his power. He kicked and pushed the woman and went away from there.
At the same time, the bus marshals remained adamant in their demand to get their jobs back through the BJP MLAs and the LG. A female bus marshal kept pleading with the BJP MLA, but he continued trying to shoo her away. Meanwhile, other bus marshals also started demanding their jobs back from the LG on behalf of the BJP MLAs. Just then, a Delhi Police jawan arrived and slapped the female bus marshal.
Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj learned of this incident while sitting on a dharna with the bus marshals outside the LG House. At that moment, both female bus marshals cried out in front of the media, stating that they were kicked by BJP MLA Vijender Gupta and slapped by Pradeep Pawar, a police officer with the Delhi Police. Upon hearing this, Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj became furious and demanded that the police officer present take legal action against MLA Vijender Gupta. In response, the police officer had them medically examined and assured action would be taken.
At the same time, the police officer who slapped the female bus marshal was identified by the victim in the crowd. The woman pointed her finger and identified the police personnel who had slapped her.
Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “I had received information that, in the presence of heavy police forces, BJP MLA Vijender Gupta kicked a female bus marshal and a policeman also slapped her. The woman has identified the officer. I have instructed the police to have the woman medically examined and to file a report against the MLA and take action. The AAP stands with the bus marshals and will ensure that they get their jobs back.”
