Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and MLA Dilip Pandey has written a letter to the LG regarding the tragic death of mother and son after falling into an open drain of DDA in Mayur Vihar Phase III, Delhi.
In this letter, he has demanded action against the officials responsible for the incident and compensation for the victim’s family. In the letter, he has written that it has been two days since this incident happened, but no action has been taken against any responsible officer yet. We raised the public’s interests in front of LG sir and he has listened to us. In this case too, we are confident that he will take strict action and send a strong message so that such an incident does not happen again in the future.
Senior AAP leader and MLA Dilip Pandey said in a press conference at the party headquarters on Friday that two innocent lives were lost in the tragic accident that took place in Kondli Assembly of Delhi on the night of July 31.
“We have been saying repeatedly that the BJP hates the people of Delhi. In the eyes of the BJP, the lives of Delhiites have no value. A woman and her two-and-a-half year old child lost their lives due to the negligence of DDA officials at the drain where reconstruction work was going on in the border area of Delhi. That innocent child still had a lot to see in the world, he had to fulfill the dreams of his family. But before that child could grow up and stand on his feet, the DDA drain took his life. This incident is very painful,” he said.
Dilip Pandey said that unfortunately I am also an ordinary member of that DDA, with a small status. But being a citizen of Delhi and a member of DDA, I have written a letter to the Chairman of DDA, LG sir, who runs the DDA. There have been many occasions when we have put forth our views in front of the LG for the rights of the public and he has listened to it. This letter will also definitely reach him.
“I hope that LG sir will become the voice of rights and justice and take action against all the careless officers involved in this incident and give a strong message, so that no other innocent has to lose his life due to such negligence of DDA in future,” he stated.
Dilip Pandey, while explaining the reason for writing the letter to the LG, said that it has been more than 36 hours since this incident, but as per my knowledge, no strict action has been taken against anyone till now. There is a DDA board meeting next week.
“We hope that in this meeting, the LG will not only take action against the culprits but will also get compensation for the victim’s family so that they can get some financial help to live their life after this incident. I have written all these things in this letter. It will reach them today. I am writing this letter with great hope and confidence that LG sir will definitely take action on this,” Dilip Pandey stated.
Dilip Kumar Pandey (DDA Member) letter to Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena:
As you are aware that two people including a woman and her son lost their lives by falling and drowning into a drain on the night of 31st July. The drain belonged to DDA and it has been reported that both the mother and the child fell into the drain as it was not covered. It is a very serious incident where two lives were lost due to negligence of DDA officers.
Sir, we live in the national capital and such incidents should be dealt with very strictly so that no such events happen in the future. Action should be taken against those responsible. Unfortunately, even after more than 36 hours, no action has been taken on the officials whose negligence caused this incident. If an issue such as this is dealt with lightly it gives a wrong message to bureaucracy and the people of Delhi.
I urge the LG who is also the Chairman of the DDA to take action immediately, and suspend the officers concerned with immediate effect.
