BJP’s anti-Dalit politics forced me to leave the party: Surendra Chaudhary

Chaudhary Surendra Kumar, former MLA of Gokalpur and BJP leader joined Aam Aadmi Party today in the presence of Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh. CM Kejriwal welcomed him into the Aam Aadmi Party fold with a party cap and scarf. “Frustrated with BJP’s anti-Dalit politics and impressed by the development work being done by the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi, I have decided to join the AAP,” said Surendra Kumar.
CM Arvind Kejriwal said, “I am very happy that right thinking people from other parties are leaving their respective parties and joining the Aam Aadmi Party. I am very happy that Chaudhary Surendra Kumar is joining the Aam Aadmi Party family along with all his workers. I thank him and welcome him and all the workers to the party.”
“Recently, former Congress MLA Prahlad Singh Sahni had joined the Aam Aadmi Party, leaving the Congress and today a former BJP MLA Chaudhary Surendra Kumar is joining us. This is happening only because in the last 5 years, the people of Delhi are extremely happy with the work being done in Delhi by the Aam Aadmi Party government. Every person living in Delhi, irrespective of party leanings has benefited from the government,” said CM Kejriwal.
“I met an RSS worker who told me that his children study in a government school in Delhi and today the government schools are in much better shape. He said he was an RSS worker but in Delhi he will also vote for the Aam Aadmi Party. Congress supporters are also saying that electricity prices are very low in Delhi so our votes will also go to the Aam Aadmi Party,” he added.
“Only the Aam Aadmi Party is the only party stands for the rights of the Dalit community. It is disappointed to see the BJP is constantly disrespecting Dalit saints. People are very angry with the BJP because of this and that is why today Surendra Chaudhary ji has left BJP for AAP,” said the chief minister.
Addressing the press conference, Surendra Chaudhary said, “The way the BJP is continuously working against the Dalit community in different parts of the country, the way the incidents of Dalit oppression are coming out in different states of the country, my community is very unhappy with that. The way the BJP keeps insulting our icon has angered us all.”
Citing the recent incident of the demolition of Sant Ravidas ji’s temple in Delhi, he said that the way the BJP government destroyed the temple, was shocking. “This is the reason is that I and all my workers have decided to leave the BJP and join the Aam Aadmi Party,” he added.
“Pople of Delhi are very happy with the government under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi. Kejriwal’s government has done work in the interest of the public in Delhi in the field of electricity, in the water, education, health care and every class of society has benefitted. Dalits are the biggest beneficiaries of the education reforms since our children can only afford to study in government schools. Even the free coaching scheme under Mukhyamantri Jai Bhim Pratibha Vikas scheme has benefitted the youth. This will transform the future of our children,” he said.
“I will take Arvind Kejriwal’s positive politics together further and I want to assure him that I will work sincerely for the people of Delhi,” added Surendra Kumar.
Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, “Aam Aadmi Party will get strength in Delhi with Surendra ji joining the party.”
Surendra Chaudhary has been a BSP MLA from Gokalpur Assembly from 2008 to 2013. During his tenure, Surendra Chaudhary was also awarded the title of Best Legislator. He joined the BJP earlier this year.

गोकलपुरी विधानसभा के पूर्व विधायक और BJP नेता सुरेंद्र चौधरी आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल हुए। मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल एवं राज्यसभा सांसद संजय सिंह की मौजूदगी में हुए पार्टी में शामिल।मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने आम आदमी पार्टी की टोपी और पटका पहनाकर स्वागत किया। भाजपा की दलित विरोधी नीतियों से नाराज होकर छोड़ी बीजेपी। दिल्ली में आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार द्वारा किए जा रहे विकासात्मक कार्यों से प्रभावित होकर आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल होने का फैसला लिया।
मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने प्रेस वार्ता को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि मुझे बेहद ही खुशी है, कि अच्छी विचारधारा के लोग अपनी-अपनी पार्टियां छोड़ कर आम आदमी पार्टी से जुड़ रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि मुझे बेहद खुशी है कि सुरेंद्र चौधरी जी अपने समस्त कार्यकर्ताओं के साथ आम आदमी पार्टी परिवार में शामिल हो रहे हैं। मैं दिल से उनका आभार व्यक्त करता हूं और आम आदमी पार्टी में उनका एवं समस्त कार्यकर्ताओं का स्वागत करता हूं।
उन्होंने कहा कि अभी बीते दिनों कांग्रेस के पूर्व विधायक राज सिंह साहनी कांग्रेस को छोड़ आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल हुए थे और आज भाजपा के पूर्व विधायक सुरेंद्र चौधरी जी अपनी पार्टी को छोड़कर अपने समस्त कार्यकर्ताओं के साथ आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल हुए हैं। मुझे बेहद खुशी है कि सकारात्मक सोच वाले लोग आम आदमी पार्टी से जुड़ रहे हैं। यह केवल इसीलिए हो पा रहा है क्योंकि पिछले 5 सालों में आम आदमी पार्टी की दिल्ली सरकार ने दिल्ली में जो जनहित के काम किए हैं, विकास के काम किए हैं, उससे पूरी दिल्ली की जनता खुश है। उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली में रहने वाला हर व्यक्ति चाहे वह किसी भी पार्टी से व्यक्तिगत तौर पर जुड़ा हुआ हो सबको कुछ ना कुछ लाभ मिला है। आर एस एस के एक कार्यकर्ता से हुई भेंट का उदाहरण देते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि उस आर एस एस कार्यकर्ता ने मुझसे कहा कि मेरे बच्चे दिल्ली के सरकारी स्कूल में पढ़ते हैं और आज सरकारी स्कूलों में व्यवस्था बहुत बेहतर है। उसने कहा कि मैं आरएसएस का कार्यकर्ता हूं परंतु दिल्ली में तो मैं वोट आम आदमी पार्टी को ही दूंगा। कांग्रेस के लोग भी मिलते हैं, वह भी कहते हैं कि दिल्ली में बिजली के दाम बहुत कम है, उससे गरीब जनता को बेहद लाभ मिल रहा है, वोट तो हम लोग आम आदमी पार्टी को ही देंगे।
अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि केवल आम आदमी पार्टी एकमात्र ऐसी पार्टी है जो दलित समाज के हक में लगातार काम कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि मुझे बेहद ही दुख है कि बीजेपी लगातार दलित समाज और समाज के संतों के अनादर का काम कर रही है, जिसकी वजह से पूरे दलित समाज में रोष है गुस्सा है और यही कारण है कि आज सुरेंद्र चौधरी जी अपने समस्त कार्यकर्ताओं के साथ बीजेपी पार्टी को छोड़कर आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल हो रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा हम न केवल दलित समाज के लिए अपितु दिल्ली की दो करोड़ जनता के लिए काम कर रहे है और दिल्ली में समस्त जनता का साथ आम आदमी पार्टी को मिल रहा है, चाहे व्यक्तिगत तौर पर वह किसी भी पार्टी से या किसी भी संगठन से जुड़े हुए हो।
प्रेस वार्ता को संबोधित करते हुए सुरेंद्र चौधरी जी ने कहा कि जिस प्रकार से लगातार भाजपा देश के अलग अलग कौनो में दलित समुदाय के खिलाफ काम कर रही है, जिस प्रकार से देश के अलग-अलग राज्यों में दलित उत्पीड़न की घटनाएं सामने आती रहती है, उससे मैं और मेरा समाज बेहद दुखी है। जिस प्रकार से बीजेपी दलित समाज में पैदा हुए महापुरुषों का अपमान करती रहती है, उससे पूरा दलित समाज दुखी है।
हाल ही में दिल्ली में संत रविदास जी के मंदिर तोड़े जाने की घटना का हवाला देते हुए उन्होंने कहा, कि जिस प्रकार से केंद्र में बैठी भाजपा सरकार ने मंदिर को तुड़वाया उससे दिल्ली का पूरा दलित समाज नाराज है और भाजपा की इसी दलित विरोधी नीति के कारण मैंने और मेरे समस्त कार्यकर्ताओं ने भाजपा को छोड़कर आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल होने का फैसला लिया है।
उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली में मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल जी की अध्यक्षता में जो सरकार चल रही है, उससे पूरी दिल्ली की जनता बेहद खुश है। केजरीवाल जी की सरकार ने दिल्ली में जनता के हित में बिजली के क्षेत्र में, पानी के क्षेत्र में, शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में, चिकित्सा के क्षेत्र में, विकास के क्षेत्र में जो काम किए हैं उसका लाभ हर वर्ग के, हर तबके के व्यक्ति को मिल रहा है। अरविंद केजरीवाल जी ने स्कूलों में आज व्यवस्था इतनी अच्छी कर दी है कि दलित समाज, जो की अति पिछड़ा हुआ वर्ग है, आज उनके बच्चे भी अच्छी शिक्षा प्राप्त कर रहे हैं। दलितों के बच्चों के लिए हायर एजुकेशन के लिए मुफ्त कोचिंग की प्रक्रिया जो अरविंद केजरीवाल जी ने शुरू की है, उससे दलित समाज के बच्चों का भविष्य सुधरेगा।
सुरेंद्र चौधरी जी ने कहा कि मैं आम आदमी पार्टी में इस विश्वास के साथ शामिल हो रहा हूं कि दिल्ली में केजरीवाल जी द्वारा जो एक सकारात्मक राजनीति की शुरुआत हुई है, हम मिलजुल कर इस सकारात्मक राजनीति को और आगे लेकर जाएंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि मैं अरविंद केजरीवाल जी को आश्वासन देता हूं कि पूरी ईमानदारी के साथ उनके कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर दिल्ली की जनता के हित में काम करूंगा और इस स्वच्छ और सकारात्मक राजनीति को समाज के कोने कोने तक पहुंचाने में तन मन धन से कार्यरत रहूंगा।
nप्रेस वार्ता में मौजूद राज्यसभा सांसद संजय सिंह ने कहा कि सुरेंद्र चौधरी जी आज अपने समस्त कार्यकर्ताओं के साथ आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल हो रहे हैं, उसके लिए हम सुरेंद्र जी का दिल से आभार व्यक्त करते हैं। सुरेंद्र जी के पार्टी में शामिल होने से आम आदमी पार्टी को दिल्ली में मजबूती मिलेगी। संजय सिंह ने बताया कि सुरेंद्र चौधरी जी 2008 से 2013 तक गोकलपुर विधानसभा से भाजपा विधायक रहे हैं। उनके कार्यकाल के दौरान सुरेंद्र चौधरी जी को सर्वश्रेष्ठ विधायक के खिताब से भी नवाज़ा गया था।
