Food and Civil Supplies Minister Mr Imran Hussain on Thursday convened a meeting of all Assistant Commissioners of the Department.
The Minister reviewed the Public Distribution System of Specified Food Articles (SFAs) viz. wheat, rice and sugar, and issued directions that senior officers will ensure adherence of timely opening and closing of Fair Price Shops (FPSs) by the owners.
All the Assistant Commissioners were also directed to make regular inspections for ensuring that the ration card beneficiaries obtained their full quota of ration timely. Further, grievances of ration card holders should be redressed expeditiously and that FPS owners comply with the directions issued by the Department from time to time regarding display boards at their premises regarding Name of License and Authority Letter No., Stock of foodgrains received during the month; Opening stock of foodgrains; Timings of opening and closing of the fair price shop including lunch break, if any; Entitlement of foodgrains; Scale of issue; Retail issue prices; Toll-free helpline number;Sample of Sugar, Wheat and Rice; Weekly Off Day; Availability of complaint register No at the Fair price Shops (FPS); and Grievance Redressal Machinery etc.The Minister further directed that no laxity will be tolerated for the lapses on the part of the Department officials.
Assistant Commissioners assured the Minister that directions in this regard will be duly complied with.
