Mr Jarnail Singh (Ex MLA Rajouri Garden) on Friday assumed the charge of Vice Chairman of Punjabi Academy, in the presence of Mr Avtar Singh Kalka, MLA (Kalkaji), Mr Gurbhej Singh Guraya, Secretary, Punjabi Academy and the Members of Governing Council Mr Baljeet Singh, Mr Inderjeet Singh, Mr Jaswant Singh Arora, Ms Swati Sachdeva, Ms Kanchan Bhupal,Mr Davinder Sahni and Mr Kamaljit Singh.
Mr Jarnail Singh was earlier this month appointed the Vice Chairman by the Chief Minister Mr Arvind Kejriwal.
Mr Jarnail Singh joined in presence of several eminent people and scholars from the Punjabi Community, in the office of Punjabi Academy, DDA Community Centre, Motia Khan, Pahar Ganj, New Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion he assured that Punjabi Academy will make sincere efforts for upliftment of Punjabi language, literature and Culture. He stressed upon the need for the Punjabi community to come forward for their mother tongue and feel proud in speaking Punjabi. He also assured to solve the issues of Punjabi Teachers and to secure more Funds for the Punjabi Academy.
