Directorate of Education, Delhi Government on Tuesday announced admissions under Section 12(1)(c) of Right to Education Act that mandates 25% reservation in entry class of private unaided non-minority schools for children belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Socially Disadvantaged Groups (DG).

For schools recognised under Delhi School Education Act, the admissions will be conducted through online process and a centralised lottery to bring in the transparency and accountability since this process eliminates any interfere of private schools during the admission process.

Post the lottery, private schools will simply be communicated the children who will be allotted admission in their schools. Nearly 28000 students in 1158 schools stand to benefit from this.  To avoid any duplication of admission, the department has made Aadhaar ID mandatory which will curb any attempt to have unfair advantage of admission by means of multiple applications.

Admission process has begun on Tuesday (10th January) and will continue till 31st January 2017.

The schools that were recognised by the Directorate of Education under RTE as well as MCD recognised schools shall have offline process on the same lines as thus far. The Directorate has issued Common Application Form fo facilitated parents. Schools are directed not to charge any fee for the form, if the parents choose to obtain application form from school. The offline process will also have same schedule I.e. 31st January 2017 as last date to apply and the results of first round will be announced on 28th February 2017. The schools are directed to complete admission process by 31st March 2017.

Keeping in line with its commitment to serving children, the Directorate has launched Helpline that can be reached at 8800355192 & 8800355146 during working hours.

The Directorate had recently launched a portal to deal with grievances filed against private schools  which can be used by citizens to have their grievances resolved in time bound manner. The portal is: http://doepvt.delhi.gov.in/
