Chief Minister & Chairman Delhi Jal Board Mr. Arvind Kejriwal inaugurates the work of  rehabilitation of sewer line in Krishna Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Patparganj and Vishwas Nagar Assembly Constituencies

Once completed it will benefit 22.5 lakh people in these areas

Feb 4: In consonance with the objectives of the Delhi government to improve the sanitation issues within Delhi, Delhi Jal Board is making consistent efforts to bring such areas into its improved sewerage network.

Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister, Delhi & Chairman Delhi Jal Board inaugurated the work of rehabilitation of sewer line in Krishna Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Patparganj and Vishwas Nagar Assembly Constituencies on Sunday Feb 4, in the presence of Mr. Dinesh Mohaniya, Vice-Chairman:DJB, Mr. Anil Kumar Singh, CEO- DJB and other senior officials of Delhi Jal Board.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “There should be no politics over the works being carried out for public welfare like – water, health, roads, sewage, schools, etc. Those who do politics over such issues are traitors and anti-nationals. Such political parties who do politics over such issues will face the wrath of the people of Delhi.”

“If you have to do politics enter the hearts of the people of Delhi, politics is not done by stopping welfare projects of public good. Delhi government is working honestly & tirelessly for the people of Delhi and that’s why the people love the government and the work done in the last three years,” he added.

The above mentioned work is likely to be completed within 02 years thereby benefiting around 22.5 lakh people.

Execution of present scheme will rehabilitate below given 7 major sewer lines by inner lining methods:

  1.     Trunk Sewer no.4
  2.     Narwana Road Sewer
  3.     Anand Vihar Sewer
  4.     Hargovind Enclave Sewer
  5.     Vikar Marg Sewer
  6.     Trunk Sewer no.5
  7.     Jhilmil Colony Sewer

On completion of the work, the problems like untreated sewer overflow and Sewer surcharge, thereby, several health issues owing to unhygienic conditions will be addressed. The total cost incurred in this project is approximately 129.78 crores.
