Chief Minister appeals to residents of Yamuna floodplains to shift to government tents
· The water level in Yamuna is expected to cross the danger level (205.33 meter) by today evening, since Haryana has released 8.28 Lakh cusecs of water.
Ø Chief Minister appeals to those staying in the floodplains of Yamuna to evacuate by 6:00 PM today evening and shift to the tents set up by the Delhi Government.
Ø He requested to the people of Delhi not to panic since the government is taking all possible measures to deal with the situation
Ø Delhi Government has set up 2120 tents with facilities like electricity, water, food and toilets.
Ø 53 boats are ready for the rescue operations and 30 boats have been already placed in 30 locations, where higher impact of the flood is anticipated.
Ø Delhi Government has set-up an emergency contact number 22421656, and the SDM Preet Vihar, the nodal officer of the control room can be contacted at 21210849.
Chief Minister Mr Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said that the water level in Yamuna is expected to cross the danger mark (205.33 meter) by the evening, since Haryana has released 8.28 Lakh cusecs of water on Sunday evening and excess water will reach Delhi within 36 to 72 hours.
He appealed to those staying in the floodplains of Yamuna to evacuate and shift to the tents set up by the Delhi Government.
The Chief Minister was briefing the media along with ministers Mr Satyendar Jain, Mr Kailash Gahlot, Chief Secretary Mr Vijay Kumar Dev and other senior officers, immediately after a high level meeting of Ministers and Officers from all the concerned departments to monitor the situation and review the preparedness.
He requested the people of Delhi not to panic as the government is taking all possible measures to effectively deal with the situation, which may affect residents of low lying areas in six districts (North, North East, Shahdara East, Central, and South East) where Yamuna flows through.
As part of preparedness to combat the situation, Delhi government has already started to evacuate people and take to tents on both the sides of Yamuna. So far, 2120 tents have been set- up with facilities like electricity, water, food and toilets.
Mr Kejriwal repeatedly appealed to the people in the floodplains to shift to the tents by 6:00 PM in the evening and not to return till water recedes, as the nature of flow in Yamuna can’t be predicted. He made a special appeal to take care of the children as they may get into the river to play or take a bath. He recalled the instance of two deaths reported last year.
Also, 53 boats are ready for the rescue operations and 30 boats have been already placed in 30 locations, where higher impact of the flood is anticipated.

Earlier in 2013, Haryana had released 8.06 Lakh cusecs of water that had resulted in raising the water level to 207.3 meters. Considering the huge volume of water released yesterday, Yamuna’s water level may rise higher this time.
“Next two days are very crucial. We are monitoring the situation”, said the Chief Minister. He also said that Delhi Government is coordinating with the Central Government and the Lieutenant Governor’s office and all concerned agencies. The entire government machinery is focused in tackling this emergency situation in the next two days as every life is precious for the government, the Chief Minister said.

मुख्यमंत्री ने यमुना फ्लडप्लेंस के निवासियों से सरकार के टेंट्स में शिफ्ट होने की अपील की

दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री श्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने सोमवार को कहा कि यमुना के जल स्तर के शाम तक खतरे के निशान (205.33 मीटर) को पार कर जाने की आशंका है क्योंकि हरियाणा ने रविवार शाम को 8.28 लाख क्यूसेक पानी छोड़ा है और यह पानी 36 से 72 घंटों के अंदर दिल्ली में पहुंच जाएगा।
उन्होंने अपील की यमुना फ्लडप्लेंस में रहने वाले लोग अपनी जगह खाली कर दें और दिल्ली सरकार की तरफ से लगाये गये टेंट्स में शिफ्ट हो जाएं। इस बारे में जानकारी देने के लिए मुख्यमंत्री श्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने सोमवार को दिल्ली सचिवालय में एक प्रेस कांफ्रेंस की जिसमें मंत्री श्री सत्येंद्र जैन, श्री कैलाश गहलोत, मुख्य सचिव श्री विजय कुमार देव के साथ अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारी भी मौजूद रहे। इस प्रेस वार्ता से पहले दिल्ली सचिवालय में मुख्यमंत्री की अध्यक्षता में एक उच्च स्तरीय बैठक हुई जिसमें सभी संबंधित विभागों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी मौजूद रहे। इस बैठक में बाढ़ की स्थिति और तैयारियों की समीक्षा की गई।
प्रेस कांफ्रेस में मुख्यमंत्री ने लोगों से अपील की कि वह बिलकुल भी न घबरायें क्योंकि इस स्थिति से निपटने के लिए सरकार सभी जरूरी कदम उठा रही है। दिल्ली के छह जिलों (नॉर्थ, नॉर्थ ईस्ट, शाहदरा, ईस्ट, सेंट्रल और साउथ वेस्ट) के निचले इलाकों में रहने वाले लोग इससे प्रभावित हो सकते हैं।
किसी भी स्थिति से निपटने की तैयारी के अलावा दिल्ली सरकार पहले से ही लोगों को ऐसी जगहों से निकालने और यमुना के दोनों तरफ लगाए गये टेंट्स में उनको ले जाने का काम कर रही है। अब तक, 2120 टेंट्स लगाये जा चुके हैं, जहां पर बिजली, खाने-पीने, पानी और टॉयलेट इत्यादि का इंतजाम किया गया है।
श्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने फ्लडप्लेंस में रहने वाले लोगों से बार-बार अपील करते हुए कहा कि वे शाम 6 बजे तक टेंट्स में शिफ्ट कर जाएं और तब तक वापस ना जाएं जब तक उनके इलाकों से पानी न निकल जाए क्योंकि यमुना के पानी के प्रवाह के बारे में कोई भविष्यवाणी नहीं की जा सकती। मुख्यमंत्री ने बच्चों को लेकर विशेषतौर पर अपील करते हुए कहा कि अपने बच्चों का खास तौर पर ख्याल रखें क्योंकि अकसर बच्चे खेलने या नहाने नदी में चले जाते हैं। पिछले साल इसी तरह से दो बच्चों की मौत हो गई थी। इसके अलावा बचाव कार्य के लिए 53 नावों को तैयार कर लिया गया है और 30 नावों को उन 30 स्थानों पर पहले से ही लगा दिया गया है जहां बाढ़ का असर ज्यादा रहने की संभावना है।
इसके लिए दिल्ली सरकार एक इमरजेंसी कॉन्टैक्ट टेलीफोन नंबर 22421656 जारी किया है। साथ ही एसडीएम प्रीत विहार नोडल ऑफिसर हैं और उनके कंट्रोल रूम के टेलीफोन नंबर 21210849 से कॉन्टैक्ट किया जा सकता है। इससे पहले 2013 में हरियाणा में 8.06 लाख क्यूसेक पानी छोड़ा था जिसकी वजह से जलस्तर 207.3 मीटर तक गया था। रविवार को हरियाणा की तरफ से जितनी भारी मात्रा में पानी छोड़ा गया है, उससे यमुना का जल स्तर काफी ज्यादा बढ़ सकता है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा, अगले दो दिन बेहद अहम हैं। हम स्थिति पर नजर बनाये हुए हैं। उन्होंने ये भी कहा कि दिल्ली सरकार केंद्र सरकार, उप-राज्यपाल के ऑफिस और सभी संबंधित एजेंसियों के साथ तालमेल बनाये हुए हैं। सरकार के लिए हर किसी का जीवन बेहद कीमती है, इसी को देखते हुए पूरा सरकारी तंत्र किसी भी आकस्मिक स्थिति से निपटने लिए तैयार है।
