Expanded Reach & Legalisation of Piped Water Network

The free life line water served as a major incentive for consumers who did not have a water meter to get one in order to avail the subsidy. As a result, more than 5 lakh new households now have water connections.

  • The number of functional water meters has increased from 8.57 lakh in 2015 to 14.67 lakh by end-2019 – a 71% increase.
  • The number of unmetered connections has come down from 3.29 lakh in 2015 to 1.58 lakh by 2019 – a 52% decrease.
