The Food & Supplies Minister and MLA of Ballimaran, Shri Imran Hussain, inspected the area from Farash Khana to Lal Kuan, falling under wards 79 & 81 in the assembly constituency. The purpose of the visit was to review the various ongoing development works. Accompanying Shri Hussain during the field inspection were MCD councillor Shri Mohammad Shadique, officers of the Public Works Department (PWD), BSES, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Delhi Jal Board, Health Department, Revenue Department, and officers of Delhi Police. Eminent personalities of the area also joined the inspection.

During the visit, Shri Hussain emphasised the importance of maintaining cleanliness and proper hygiene in the area, especially considering the ongoing rainy season. Shri Imran Hussain emphasised that drainage maintenance work should be prioritised to prevent littering on the roads and ensure regular disposal of filth in the area.

Shri Imran Hussain inspected the ongoing water boring work at Katra Hiduu by Delhi Jal Board and addressed the officials regarding water supply quality. Expressing dissatisfaction with the filth in the MCD’s garbage house, he promptly reprimanded the officials and demanded swift disposal. Shri Hussain reviewed the progress of various projects in the Ballimaran Assembly Constituency and urged agencies to prepare estimates for RCC drains and roads. He instructed PWD and MCD officials to expedite repairs and construction to avoid inconvenience for residents.

During the visit, Shri Imran Hussain also reviewed the ongoing projects and development work at various Katras in the Ballimaran constituency, specifically related to DUSIB. Shri Hussain directed the DUSIB officials to physically inspect the sites of the Katras and provide detailed estimates for the development work in all Katras within the Ballimaran constituency. Furthermore, he instructed the DUSIB officials to ensure the provision of necessary basic amenities to residents living in different Katras of the area.

Shri Hussain also interacted with residents, who raised concerns about low water pressure in the area. Taking immediate note of the matter, the Minister assured the residents that all grievances related to the water supply would be resolved promptly. In this regard, water boring work is already underway on Farash Khana Main Road by the Delhi Jal Board. Shri Hussain also directed DJB officers to install new water pipelines where necessary to ensure proper and equitable water supply to residents. He emphasised the importance of regular monitoring of the ground situation by the Delhi Jal Board.

Additionally, Shri Imran Hussain instructed BSES to promptly address any hanging low-lying wires in the area and directed senior officers to conduct proactive inspections for resident safety. He also emphasised the need to restore defunct street lights and install additional ones in consultation with the RWAs to eliminate dark spots. Interacting with residents, they expressed satisfaction with Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s transparent governance and the benefits of various welfare schemes. The Minister acknowledged the regular cleanliness efforts in the area and residents’ appreciation for the uninterrupted and affordable 24-hour electricity supply in Delhi.
