The Aam Aadmi Party accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of hatching another conspiracy to topple the governments of Delhi and Punjab by planning to arrest AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal.
Hitting out at the BJP, AAP Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh stated that every previous attempt to overthrow the AAP governments has failed, and now the BJP is resorting to creating fake stories to fulfil their old dream of toppling the Delhi government. He further added that the Prime Minister does not want to fight corruption but wants to fight with CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal.
AAP Chief Spokesperson and Delhi Minister Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj echoed Shri Sanjay Singh’s sentiments, stating that the BJP has been misusing central agencies to arrest AAP leaders and is now preparing to arrest the Chief Minister. He asserted that the Prime Minister is using all his might to finish CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, and the BJP has planned to keep him in jail for six months and create havoc with investigative agencies in Delhi and Punjab. He also defended CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s honesty, stating that if a man who left the plush post of Income Tax Commissioner and chose to fight for the ration for poor people in the slums of Sundarnagri can be called corrupt, then no one in this world is honest.
Addressing a press conference, AAP Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh stated that Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal has clearly presented all the evidence in front of the media and exposed the false allegations of a liquor scam being used as an excuse to topple the government. He further asserted that the intention behind these fake stories is to fulfil the old objective of toppling the Delhi government of BJP and PM Narendra Modi.
Shri Sanjay Singh accused the Prime Minister of being scared of Shri Arvind Kejriwal and the Delhi government, which has been successful in building good schools, hospitals, roads, and providing free electricity and water to the people, along with other benefits. The MP went on to say that a conspiracy has been hatched to arrest CM Kejriwal in an attempt to topple the government, as the Arvind Kejriwal model is being discussed all over the country.
He reminded the media that in the past, fake cases were filed against 40 MLAs, and inquiries were conducted by the Shunglu Committee and the CBI. He further stated that the ED’s statement about Manish Sisodia destroying 14 phones was false, as those phones are operational and five of them are with ED-CBI itself. Notably, Six witnesses have changed their statements, claiming that their statements were taken at gunpoint. Shri Sanjay Singh himself was falsely named in the charge sheet, which he believes is an attempt to defame AAP by making fabricated false allegations.
Shri Sanjay Singh further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has no qualms about corruption. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is immersed in corruption from head to toe. His aim is to disturb, break and buy-sell all the governments of the opposition. When every weapon of his has failed in Delhi and Punjab, now a conspiracy has been hatched to topple the government by arresting Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal,” he concluded.
While on the other hand, Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj vehemently criticised the central government for misusing investigative agencies like CBI and ED for their vested interests. He pointed out the anomaly of seeing a behemoth party like BJP and Prime Minister Modi scrambling to arrest Shri Arvind Kejriwal on baseless, unfounded and trumped up charges, in a similar fashion to the previous arrests of former Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia last month, and former cabinet minister Shri Satyendar Jain last May.
Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “Now the BJP is preparing to arrest the Chief Minister of Delhi. One wonders as to what brought on this degree of enmity within BJP and the Prime Minister. They wish to obliterate AAP from the face of the Earth.” The Cabinet Minister noted that AAP is a recently founded party, having governments in merely two states, yet BJP and PM Modi are so afraid of Shri Arvind Kejriwal that they are trying all ways to harass and intimidate him.
Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj, while accusing BJP and the central government for intimidating AAP MLAs, attempting horsetrading and defections, filing malicious court cases, stated that the AAP government has withstood each such attack. No force is able to dismantle the Kejriwal government, despite the central government’s repeated attempts, he said. He expressed his pride, that despite larger parties on the scene, the PM and BJP have decided to target AAP, which could only mean that the Kejriwal government and the CM himself are doing what is right, and the central government is running scared.
Finally, Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj applauded the honest, upright and incorruptible character of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, stating, “But if someone can sacrifice their position as an income tax commissioner in order to fully serve the poor and the downtrodden like Shri Arvind Kejriwal has and yet be accused of corruption, then I wholeheartedly believe there is no honest person in existence. If someone as honest and hardworking as Shri Arvind Kejriwal is blamed for corruption, then there is truly no honest person alive anymore.”
