State Level Career Conclave for students of 12th Standard of Delhi government schools

Directorate of Education, GNCT Delhi, is organizing four days “State-level Career Conclave” from 28th January to 31st January 2019. The Mega event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Deputy CM/Minister of Education, Sh. Manish Sisodia. Also present on the occasion were Sh. Sanjay Goel, Director, Education, and other senior officials of Directorate of Education. The Director of Education welcomed the chief guest and motivated the students to dream big and choose a career as per their interest and aptitude. He also stressed that Career Conclave is one such event that aims to bridge the gap between career information students have with them and the world of work in real time. Inauguration program concluded with vote of thanks and encouraging words of additional D.E. (Schools/ EVGB) Dr. Saroj Bala Sain.

Hon’ble Dy. C.M Sh. Manish Sisodia in his address said that “to improve the standard of education in Delhi Government is not only focusing classroom teaching but also looking at holistic development of the students. The Career Conclave is one such attempt to provide a platform to the students to explore various career options.”

He advised the students to dream beyond the obvious, not only to go for conventional career choices but also explore other avenues as per their aspirations and abilities, and to read about their role models to understand the path towards realizing those dreams.

There was a vibrant presentation of welcome song and group dance during the inauguration of program. Nearly, 32000 students of class 12th of Govt. schools of DOE are visiting the Career Conclave along with escort teachers.

The Career Conclave is marked by the participation of 71 organizations and more than 100 stalls, with informative displays and exhibits. This provided wide exposure to students for opportunities in technical, higher education, vocational and skill sectors. Talks and discussion by experts from different fields about possible career paths and job market trend helped students in understanding various courses and their future prospects. Also, there were many trained EVGCs (Educational & Vocational Guidance Counsellors) to provide one to one counselling to meet the individual needs of the students for a focused, well-informed career planning.

The Conclave provided a platform for a number of public and private educational institutions, Universities, both government and semi-government along with Defence and paramilitary forces. The Aim to disseminate information and create awareness among students about various opportunities available in the field of education and employment was really fulfilled. The enthusiasm of the students to visit the Career Conclave was evident from the eagerness with which they visited each stall of and participated in the discussion.
